JUST OUTSIDE THE GATE

by Bill Kochman

05-12-2014

A man of the world, he knew so much,
He laughed and took the Devil’s bait,
When talk arose about God and such,
The name of Christ he chose to hate.

Tho friends warned of his great sin,
He said “I’m the master of my fate,
With religious stuff don’t you begin,
Your Jesus will just have to wait.

But death came soon to his own door,
And alas, for him it was too late,
And tho he weeps with eyes so sore,
He now suffers just outside the Gate.
