LABOR OF LOVE

by Bill Kochman

12-18-2023

Sometimes I just grow so weary,
Forces of darkness hide my light,
I work from early in the morning,
Yes, often until very late at night.

I pump out the truth of the Word,
My one goal is to feed His sheep,
I faithfully pour through the Bible,
Until my eyes beg for some sleep.

So much deception now abounds,
Thus God’s truth I strive to reveal,
But they work so hard against me,
It is often one, long battle uphill.

Just like the Prophets of long ago,
I find myself seeming quite alone,
It is only by His Grace I continue,
To see fruit from seed I’ve sown.

Someday all my battles will end,
My old flesh won’t take anymore,
Then I’ll gladly lay down my pen,
As I walk through Heaven’s door.

But as for now, tho it can be hard,
I will continue in this labor of love,
Relying solely upon the Holy Spirit,
Which Father sends from above.
