LIES AND EMBELLISHMENTS

Now, if there is one thing you need to learn,
All politicians embellish, lie and exaggerate.
The truth is that dishonesty is in their blood,
Yes, even before they’ve gotten out the gate,

In their minds, facts are actually fluid things,
Which can be molded to support their view,
Sure, just a little bit of tweaking here & there,
To convince voters that what they say is true.

However, if their fact is not really the full fact,
Then are their words not in actuality a big lie?
Yet many people are willing to just let it slide,
So should we not at least ask ourselves why?

It seems that folks are willing to be deceived,
If doing so demonstrates their loyal support,
They know their candidate isn’t being honest,
And yet they still allow them the truth distort.

So it’s all simply a game of lies and deception,
Where voters support a candidate at any cost,
They’re willing to overlook his embellishments,
That is, just as long as that election is not lost.
