LOST WORLD

The world that I grew up in,
Does not exist anymore,
Somewhere along the way,
Was it just shown the door?

Life has never been perfect,
But better when I was a kid,
We were happy and healthy,
With all those things we did.

We played outside till sunset,
Then read books in our bed,
Children respected parents,
Doing whatever they said.

Cell phones didn’t exist then,
No noses glued to a screen,
TV & movies had no cussing,
Our world was rather clean.

We learned to be responsible,
Our chores had to be done,
Then as the weekend came,
We were allowed to have fun.

Moms and dads got married,
There wasn’t any other way,
Male & female were normal,
Not like the confusion today.

Abortion was not yet legal,
Praying in schools was okay,
Babies were all welcomed,
What more is there to say?
