MATRIX MENTALITY

Just look at all of those people,
Strung out on their chosen drug,
I try hard to get through to them,
But they give a mindless shrug.

Like zombies in a horror movie,
They all gaze with a blank stare,
It really causes me to question,
If someone is actually in there.

For some folks it is their politics,
While for others a denomination,
Yet to me one thing is for certain,
They’re under mental subjugation.

Yes, they all seem to think alike,
As they parrot their party’s plan,
There’s no room for individuality,
They’re caught in a matrix, man.

While I boldly tell them the truth,
They just blindly turn to the side,
And all the words I have spoken,
They foolishly reject and deride.

But someday my words will end,
There won’t be any more to say,
For the Lord’s mercy will cease,
His judgment will be on its way.
