NO MORE WARS

by Bill Kochman

11-28-2023

We all know that war is nonproductive,
Yes, wars are just one mindless waste,
Yet look at how countries pursue them,
They engage in them with much haste.

Indeed, all wars are totally destructive,
Like some monster with terrible claws,
But they won’t stop fighting and killing,
Why can’t nations ever give it a pause?

Sadly, no sooner has one battle ended,
When somewhere another one begins,
This violent world so needs to wake up,
Because in the end no one really wins.

How can any confrontation be justified,
When so many innocent lives are lost,
It’s time that we stop and ask ourselves,
Is war really worth such a terrible cost?
