OUTSIDER

by Bill Kochman

The ungodly world is out to get you,
Oh yes, you better believe they are,
They scheme to take control of you,
Just like some bug trapped in a jar.

No room for any independent thinking,
Just like sardines packed so tight,
We must all conform to their ways,
If we don’t want to feel their bite.

They’re the ones who make the rules,
Though their laws aren’t always fair,
But just you dare try to complain,
And you’ll see they don’t really care.

The game will never be in your favor,
Wake up, the truth you need to face,
You’re just not a part of their world,
God has for you a much better place.

The Lord made you to be an outsider,
Like all of the Saints of years ago,
You’re a fellow stranger and pilgrim,
Isn’t it about time that you know?
