Some of my online friends insist,
That our planet is actually flat,
But when I strive to correct them,
Man, they just cannot handle that.
Now when you try to present them,
With many solid scientific facts,
They all reveal their true colors,
Even threaten with a verbal axe.
Oh so many silly lies and excuses,
They dream up in their crazy head,
While they’re indeed so very wrong,
They cast the blame on you instead.
They’ll attempt to turn the tables,
Demanding proof the Earth is round,
While they are the ones who do err,
With no ideas scientifically sound.
They will twist verses in the Bible,
To make them say what was not meant,
Their interpretation is very faulty,
But they simply will not even repent.
Well I will patiently give them time,
As I try hard to change their views,
Yet the time still eventually arrives,
When such absurdity gives me the blues,
So I’ll then decide to just back away,
I gave them a good chance to rethink,
But they refused to listen to reason,
From the truth well they will not drink.
My friends, it’s indeed a sad occasion,
When people knowingly choose deception,
Their pride will not let them back down,
So they refuse to accept the correction.
Blindness will continue to surround them,
While they all stumble about in the night,
Now Prophet Isaiah warned of such people,
Who walk in darkness and yet call it light.
Note: Other men who had beards — and long hair — include Samson and John the Baptist — who were both Nazarites — and quite possibly Jesus as well.
“They shall not make baldness upon their head, neither shall they shave off the corner of their beard, nor make any cuttings in their flesh.” Leviticus 21:5, KJV
“It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments;” Psalm 133:2, KJV
“And Mephibosheth the son of Saul came down to meet the king, and had neither dressed his feet, nor trimmed his beard, nor washed his clothes, from the day the king departed until the day he came again in peace.” 2 Samuel 19:24, KJV
“And he [King David] changed his behaviour before them, and feigned himself mad in their hands, and scrabbled on the doors of the gate, and let his spittle fall down upon his beard.” 1 Samuel 21:13, KJV
“Wherefore Hanun took David’s servants, and shaved off the one half of their beards, and cut off their garments in the middle, even to their buttocks, and sent them away. When they told it unto David, he sent to meet them, because the men were greatly ashamed: and the king said, Tarry at Jericho until your beards be grown, and then return.” 2 Samuel 10:4-5, KJV
“And Joab said to Amasa, Art thou in health, my brother? And Joab took Amasa by the beard with the right hand to kiss him.” 2 Samuel 20:9, KJV
“And when I heard this thing, I rent my garment and my mantle, and plucked off the hair of my head and of my beard, and sat down astonied.” Ezra 9:3, KJV
“And thou, son of man, take thee a sharp knife, take thee a barber’s razor, and cause it to pass upon thine head and upon thy beard: then take thee balances to weigh, and divide the hair.” Ezekiel 5:1, KJV
“That there came certain from Shechem, from Shiloh, and from Samaria, even fourscore men, having their beards shaven, and their clothes rent, and having cut themselves, with offerings and incense in their hand, to bring them to the house of the LORD.” Jeremiah 41:5, KJV
It is a given that the vast majority of people who participate on social networks are lurkers. They rarely — if ever — like or share posts that they enjoy. Even fewer are those people who take the time to actually comment on a post. Most folks just silently browse posts in the background, never making their presence known through the aforementioned actions.
However, while it may not be their intention, their lack of participation may actually discourage the person who has worked so hard to create, publish and distribute the posts. The truth is that the OP — original poster — may even think that his or her hard work for the Lord is having little to no effect on the lives of others. This may lead them to eventually give up, and stop posting altogether.
What a shame this would be. So if you don’t want this to happen, please be considerate by occasionally liking, sharing and commenting on posts that you particularly enjoy. Thanks so much! As we read in the Epistle to the Hebrews:
“But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.” Hebrews 13:16, KJV
“And all the congregation of the children of Israel journeyed from the wilderness of Sin, after their journeys, according to the commandment of the LORD, and pitched in Rephidim: and there was no water for the people to drink. Wherefore the people did chide with Moses, and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said unto them, Why chide ye with me? wherefore do ye tempt the LORD? And the people thirsted there for water; and the people murmured against Moses, and said, Wherefore is this that thou hast brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst? And Moses cried unto the LORD, saying, What shall I do unto this people? they be almost ready to stone me. And the LORD said unto Moses, Go on before the people, and take with thee of the elders of Israel; and thy rod, wherewith thou smotest the river, take in thine hand, and go. Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel. And he called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the chiding of the children of Israel, and because they tempted the LORD, saying, Is the LORD among us, or not?” Exodus 17:1-7, KJV
“Then came the children of Israel, even the whole congregation, into the desert of Zin in the first month: and the people abode in Kadesh; and Miriam died there, and was buried there. And there was no water for the congregation: and they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron. And the people chode with Moses, and spake, saying, Would God that we had died when our brethren died before the LORD! And why have ye brought up the congregation of the LORD into this wilderness, that we and our cattle should die there? And wherefore have ye made us to come up out of Egypt, to bring us in unto this evil place? it is no place of seed, or of figs, or of vines, or of pomegranates; neither is there any water to drink. And Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they fell upon their faces: and the glory of the LORD appeared unto them. And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink. And Moses took the rod from before the LORD, as he commanded him. And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock? And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also. And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them. This is the water of Meribah; because the children of Israel strove with the LORD, and he was sanctified in them . . . “And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron in mount Hor, by the coast of the land of Edom, saying, Aaron shall be gathered unto his people: for he shall not enter into the land which I have given unto the children of Israel, because ye rebelled against my word at the water of Meribah.” Numbers 20:1-13, 23-24, KJV
“And the LORD said unto Moses, Get thee up into this mount Abarim, and see the land which I have given unto the children of Israel. And when thou hast seen it, thou also shalt be gathered unto thy people, as Aaron thy brother was gathered. For ye rebelled against my commandment in the desert of Zin, in the strife of the congregation, to sanctify me at the water before their eyes: that is the water of Meribah in Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin.” Numbers 27:12-14, KJV
“Ye shall not tempt the LORD your God, as ye tempted him in Massah.” Deuteronomy 6:16, KJV

“And at Taberah, and at Massah, and at Kibrothhattaavah, ye provoked the LORD to wrath.” Deuteronomy 9:22, KJV
“And the LORD spake unto Moses that selfsame day, saying, Get thee up into this mountain Abarim, unto mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, that is over against Jericho; and behold the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel for a possession: And die in the mount whither thou goest up, and be gathered unto thy people; as Aaron thy brother died in mount Hor, and was gathered unto his people: Because ye trespassed against me among the children of Israel at the waters of Meribah-Kadesh, in the wilderness of Zin; because ye sanctified me not in the midst of the children of Israel. Yet thou shalt see the land before thee; but thou shalt not go thither unto the land which I give the children of Israel.” Deuteronomy 32:48-52, KJV
“And of Levi he [Moses] said, Let thy Thummim and thy Urim be with thy holy one, whom thou didst prove at Massah, and with whom thou didst strive at the waters of Meribah; Who said unto his father and to his mother, I have not seen him; neither did he acknowledge his brethren, nor knew his own children: for they have observed thy word, and kept thy covenant. They shall teach Jacob thy judgments, and Israel thy law: they shall put incense before thee, and whole burnt sacrifice upon thine altar. Bless, LORD, his substance, and accept the work of his hands: smite through the loins of them that rise against him, and of them that hate him, that they rise not again.” Deuteronomy 33:8-11, KJV

“He clave the rocks in the wilderness, and gave them drink as out of the great depths. He brought streams also out of the rock, and caused waters to run down like rivers. And they sinned yet more against him by provoking the most High in the wilderness. And they tempted God in their heart by asking meat for their lust. Yea, they spake against God; they said, Can God furnish a table in the wilderness? Behold, he smote the rock, that the waters gushed out, and the streams overflowed; can he give bread also? can he provide flesh for his people?” Psalm 78:15-20, KJV

“Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; And did all eat the same spiritual meat; And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.” 1 Corinthians 10:1-4, KJV
