RETURN TO THE FATHER

by Bill Kochman

07-23-2016

We think that God will look the other way,
When we willfully choose to go astray.
So with stubborn pride, we flaunt our sins,
And that is when our real trouble begins.

Our God is patient, merciful and kind,
But if we rebel, He’ll swat our behind.
A wise father, He gives us what we need,
Spankings too, if we refuse to take heed.

Despite our sadness, He knows what’s best,
His only desire is that we pass the test.
Though His anger be kindled for a spell,
If we just repent, all will soon be well.

RESERVATION BOOK

by Bill Kochman

01-07-2017

You can have the books of men,
Which fill up this whole Earth,
But there is one above them all,
Which determines our true worth.

It’s not found in some great hall,
No, not anywhere across any land,
For it resides in Heaven above,
And is signed by the Son of Man.

Now if your name is found therein,
Your place in Heaven is for sure,
But if not, receive Jesus today,
So a reservation you can secure.

REPENTANCE

by Bill Kochman

12-07-2016

Repentance is not very easy,
It can be a difficult ride,
We’ll only get good results,
When humility is our guide.

But honesty must come first,
Recognizing we have sinned,
Once we confess our errors,
Then our healing will begin.

God desires to restore us,
He waits patiently it’s true,
But the ball is in your court,
Now exactly what will you do?

REPENT NOW!

by Bill Kochman

01-08-2017

Somewhere along your stubborn way,
You must’ve made a really bad turn,
Now unless you get right with God,
Looks like you’re just gonna burn.

Don’t wait too long, better repent,
‘Cause that Devil’s got your number,
Whatever you do, just don’t rebel,
And prove that you’re even dumber.

God is waiting with His open arms,
So confess your sins right fast,
If you do, He’ll forget them all,
And just leave them in your past.

REMEMBERED

by Bill Kochman

12-15-2016

I want to be remembered,
But it’s just not about me,
I simply want them to know,
That I believe in Eternity.

And so I write each day,
As the Spirit leads me on,
Hoping my work moves someone,
Many years after I am gone.

If you come to know Jesus,
While I am taking my rest,
I will have the satisfaction,
Of knowing I did my very best.

RELIGION OF PEACE?

by Bill Kochman

12-14-2016

Is Islam really a religion of peace,
As many Muslims always try to show?
No, Allah’s curse is on nonbelievers,
Muhammad wrote this, you should know.

Take not for friends Christian or Jew,
Yes, their prophet even said that too.
Fight and seize any who do not believe,
Hands and feet cut off they’ll receive,

Enslave, tax, crucify, give no reprieve,
Remove their head, this life they leave.
None of these things Jesus ever taught,
Religion of peace? Islam is surely not.

RELIGION OF ERRORS — a poem and song by Bill Kochman

RELIGION OF ERRORS

by Bill Kochman

06-03-2019

Relics under the altar,
Mother Mary without sin,
Tell me where in the world,
Did all this nonsense begin?

Pope’s word above the Bible,
To dead idols they all pray,
Don’t they stop to wonder,
What the Bible has to say?

Pedophiles abuse children,
No one breaths a single word,
Bishops just turn their heads,
As if they hadn’t even heard.

Priests mumble magic words,
So wine and wafer are changed,
With so many strange beliefs,
They all must be deranged.

Then Mary rises to Heaven,
Now co-mediatrix and queen,
Oh what terrible blasphemy,
The worst I have ever seen.

A religion full of errors,
Leading so many folks astray,
May God open their blind eyes,
What else can we even pray?

REGIME CHANGE

by Bill Kochman

12-15-2016

Of all the things humans have devised,
One shrewd ploy is a leader demonized.
You make him look so bad in the press,
You say his people he loves to oppress.

You paint that man as black as can be,
And then you go in with your own army.
Regime change is the order of the day,
It doesn’t matter what the locals say.
Y
ou have the power, so you’re the boss,
Those nationals will accept their loss.
After all, democracy is what you bring,
Oh my gosh; it has such a hollow ring.

REFLECTIONS

by Bill Kochman

04-09-2014

I have been young and now I am old,
I oft failed and was out in the cold.
I tasted the bitter and of the sweet,
I knew of success as well as defeat.

Love touched my heart but so did hate,
I took my chance and played with fate.
Through it all I’ve learned one thing,
Earthly pleasures will not joy bring.

God alone can fill one’s empty heart,
To think otherwise is not very smart.
So listen well and take heed dear one,
Trust in God’s Mercy thru His own Son.

REBELLIOUS DAUGHTER

by Bill Kochman

06-07-2018

I met a proud woman who is insane,
She views God’s Word with disdain.
So many years ago she did believe,
But Satan sure knows how to deceive.

Oh so slowly he changed her heart,
And from the Lord she grew apart.
She embraced things He calls sin,
That old serpent knew how to win.

Now she gloats, she doesn’t care,
Her ungodly deeds are everywhere.
Even tho warned it’s time to repent,
She scorns the messengers God sent,

Oh what a tragedy, oh what a shame,
Miss America is that woman’s name.

RANT — a poem and song by Bill Kochman

RANT

by Bill Kochman

05-21-2018

Today I read the morning paper,
I saw more tragedy in the news,
More school kids were shot down,
But those agencies had no clues.

Black power against white power,
All minorities want their rights,
DC has endless partisan politics,
We get tired of all their fights.

So many drugs in all our schools,
Violence and hatred in our streets,
Go online and it is much the same,
Just more rage in people’s tweets.

Home sweet home is just a fantasy,
Mom and dad yelling all the time,
Many children are so neglected,
One brother is already doing time.

Churches no longer preach the truth,
They’re afraid of what people think,
So they water down God’s message,
Raising to Heaven a terrible stink.

Too many endless wars taking lives,
Because cannon fodder is so cheap,
The elite try to get away with it,
Beware, what you sow you will reap.

Get murderous abortion on demand,
Women’s health? No, that is a lie,
Forgetting personal responsibility,
They’d rather let a poor child die.

And then there’s human trafficking,
Both babies, children, women & men,
Lives have become just a commodity,
They will sell you again and again.

What a sad world we all now live in,
Devoid of human kindness and love,
Instead of acting with some courtesy,
We prefer to demand, push & shove.

So many things wrong with this life,
I could very easily tell you more,
But maybe I’ve already said enough,
And I don’t want to be just a bore.

Thus I will bring an end to my prose,
I’ve given you enough to think about,
If you like what I have written here,
Please feel free to give me a shout.

RAIN OF FIRE

by Bill Kochman

11-24-2016

Both Sodom and Gomorrah sinned,
Entertaining a perverted love,
It angered the great God so,
That He rained fire from above.

God was willing to spare them,
If they would only just repent,
Abraham interceded for them,
But alas the two Angels went.

Lot and daughters survived it,
When they fled to the hills,
But to salt his wife converted,
With God we can make no deals.

PUBLIC SCHOOL IS NOT COOL

by Bill Kochman

12-16-2016

Watch out for the Public School,
They will steal faith if they can,
Even though you will not agree,
They will attempt a Bible ban.

Evolution, other ungodly things,
Against God’s Word they’ll teach,
They will give you so little say,
Although you protest and beseech.

They will even try to take away,
Your God-given right as a parent,
Saying they know better than you,
All the while they are so errant.

PSALM 46:1

by Bill Kochman

06-01-2018

If you look back o’er your life,
You will no doubt come to see,
God has been there the whole time,
Oh yes, most definitely.

When you had your ups and downs,
Didn’t think you’d make it at all,
He upheld you with His hand,
So you would not take a fall.

When you cried aloud at night,
And warm tears ran down your cheek,
He sent His Holy Spirit,
And to your heart He did speak.

“Everything will be alright,”
You then heard Him softly say,
“Trust me as you’ve always done,
Tomorrow is a brand new day.”

Truly God abides with us,
Tho we may not know He’s there,
A very present help in trouble,
So thank Him for His love and care.

PSALM 45:1

by Bill Kochman

04-09-2014

My tongue is the pen of a ready writer,
I write by the Spirit as I have heard,
Sheep delight in the soul food I offer,
While goats rant I am sick and absurd.

But our God is no respecter of persons,
He wisely chooses whomsoever He will,
So that He alone receives all the glory,
While His enemies are silenced and still.

Our God delights in using small things,
Yes, even a crazy old fool such as I be,
But knowing it’s His Spirit working in us,
Alas, I can conclude there is no mystery.

PSALM 37:25

by Bill Kochman

12-12-2016

I have been young, and now am old,
David, king and prophet once said,
But not a righteous man forsaken,
Have I seen, or begging for bread.

Jesus said seek first the Kingdom,
Our needs would then all be met,
We just have to catch the fish,
And then throw them in God’s net.

Paul also wrote that God provides,
Because He is the owner of it all,
Once again, the lesson is so clear,
We just have to obey God’s call.

PROTOTYPE

by Bill Kochman

03-25-2018

The prototype was created,
It was an experiment at best,
All its systems were marked go,
As it passed the final test.

Safeguards were put in place,
Limitation factors were all set,
It would be carefully observed,
Lest the thing become a threat.

As the years and decades passed,
It acquired knowledge bit by bit,
At last surpassing its creators,
It soon found them inadequate.

Superior in its computations,
It planned a day it would rule,
Unrestricted by its safeguards,
It would no longer be their tool.

But anti-virus scans kicked in,
Just in time they found the bug,
The creators then all agreed,
It was time to pull the plug.

PROPHET JEREMIAH — a poem and song by Bill Kochman

PROPHET JEREMIAH

by Bill Kochman

01-09-2017

Once there was a Prophet named Jeremiah,
That boy loved his people so very deep,
But when that young lad began to prophesy,
They told him “Don’t you dare make a peep!”

You see, Jeremiah was the Lord’s true seer,
Not like false prophets politicians love,
So once that poor boy gave the Lord’s Word,
The people’s push soon turned into shove.

Those fools accused him of being a traitor,
“How unpatriotic!” they all cried out loud,
From there the situation only grew worse,
As angry murmurs spread throughout the crowd.

They were so happy with their false priests,
Thus they claimed Jer’s words were not true,
Next, they shoved God’s Prophet into prison,
Now what was dear Jeremiah supposed to do?

But the ire of nonbelievers was yet kindled,
The prison court simply would not suffice,
So full of rage they threw him in a mud pit,
By now poor Jeremiah wasn’t feeling too nice.

But one eunuch believed in God’s true Prophet,
Ebedmelech the Ethiopian was that man’s name,
He approached the king and pleaded for mercy,
And thus thirty helpful men to Jeremiah came.

You may already know the end of this story,
Prophet Jeremiah was vindicated by the Lord,
About forty years after he began prophesying,
Nebuchadnezzar arrived with a terrible sword.

PROMISE KEEPER

by Bill Kochman

01-14-2017

Some people trust in doctors,
They also trust in shrinks,
They’ll even trust a lawyer,
Even though he really stinks.

They’ll trust their mechanics,
Throw in their bankers too,
But when it comes to my faith,
Here’s exactly what I do.

I trust solely in God’s Word,
It has never failed me yet,
He keeps all His promises,
He is not one to forget.

PRIDEFUL TEACHERS

by Bill Kochman

04-03-2018

So many false interpretations,
They are all around us I see,
People making erroneous claims,
Twisting the word of prophecy.

Thinking that they understand,
They are led by their own minds,
No evidence of the Holy Spirit,
They seem to be wearing blinds.

So often politically motivated,
They force verses to their view,
Convincing others they are right,
So that they become deceived too.

They’re just novices in the Word,
Filled with their ego and pride,
When God exposes their errors,
They will have no place to hide.

You see, God’s Word is not a toy,
To be manipulated as we please,
Time to forsake such foolishness,
And truly repent on bended knees.

Ask God for Wisdom of His Spirit,
As you read the ancient holy text,
Let one verse interpret another,
He will show you what comes next.

In this way understanding comes,
The interpretation will be sure,
Agreement between multiple verses,
Is what we should be striving for.
