LYING SPIRITS

by Bill Kochman

05-05-2013

Beware of lying spirits,
They are everywhere today,
Be careful, just don’t listen,
To a single word they say.

Putting bitter for sweetness,
And darkness for true light,
They deceive you and blind you,
And dim your spiritual sight.

Just like God’s own servants,
They smile and speak a word,
But if you discern closely,
It is just not of the Lord.

LOVER OF MY SOUL

by Bill Kochman

11-19-2017

I haven’t always been faithful,
Sometimes I have fallen down,
Life’s temptations are so many,
To keep us from Heavenly Crown.

But our God is so understanding,
He knows we are but mere dust,
Seeing us only with eyes of love,
His judgments are fair and just.

Tho sometimes I disappoint Him,
And don’t quite reach the goal,
I have this blessed assurance,
That He’s the lover of my soul.

LOVE GROWN COLD

by Bill Kochman

12-08-2016

Love God, and love your neighbor,
Can Bible basics be more clear?
Yet we seem to stray so far away,
Gets worse with each passing year.

We each live in our modern boxes,
Like sardines packed in a tin can,
But neighbors are strangers to us,
We don’t know every child and man.

Love for others has grown so cold,
Selfishness is the rule of the day,
If Jesus were to return tomorrow,
I can just imagine what He’d say.

LONG TONGUE

by Bill Kochman

12-14-2016

We will each be held accountable,
For every idle word that we speak,
So before wagging your long tongue,
Perhaps the Lord you ought to seek.

Because once you’ve started a fire,
It may be impossible to put it out,
Lives ruined, you lose your friends,
Of this, there should be no doubt.

Words will come back to haunt you,
You’ll be accused for what you said,
The situation may even get so bad,
You’ll even wish that you were dead.

LITTLE PEOPLE

by Bill Kochman

11-26-2016

Little is much if God is in it,
Don’t feel bad if you are small,
Folks filled with so much pride,
Are rarely used by Him at all.

God tends to use little people,
Not quite equipped for the task,
But if we want Holy Spirit power,
Well, we just have to simply ask.

That way God gets all the glory,
Which is really how it should be,
But don’t be the least surprised,
If He chooses little you and me.

LITTLE BOY

by Bill Kochman

01-14-2017

America dropped the first bomb,
And it seems that ever since,
It’s been just an uphill battle,
The rest of the world to convince.

She claims that it was justified,
That so many died in that flash,
There was nothing left to bury,
No, not so much as even ash.

Oh what wicked, vile weapons,
Are born in the hearts of men,
I can only hope and pray,
That they never do it again.

LIFE ON THE STREET

by Bill Kochman

08-23-2014

Life on the street isn’t fantastic,
As you foolishly thought it would be,
You sell yourself for food and money,
That is not what it means to be free.

You had everything that you needed,
With mom and dad back at your home,
But your rebellion made life so hard,
So on the street you’re forced to roam.

The Lord gave you so many blessings,
Why did you throw them all in His face?
Are thugs, drunks and addicts friendly,
As you look for a safe sleeping place?

LIFE INSURANCE POLICY

by Bill Kochman

12-15-2016

There are so many medical books,
Describing diseases known to man,
Yet despite our great knowledge,
For death we have no solid plan.

Sooner or later it takes us all,
So it is wise to know what’s next,
We can find a very clear answer,
It is written in the Biblical text.

There is a tome, the Book of Life,
It is like a life insurance policy,
If you wish to be found therein,
To accepting Jesus you must agree.

LIFE ELSEWHERE

by Bill Kochman

01-14-2017

It is not really blasphemous,
To believe in an alien race,
There is nothing in the Bible,
That excludes some other place.

The Bible was in fact written,
Just for dwellers of the Earth,
The Lord told us our own story,
Of how humans were given birth.

Perhaps He made life elsewhere,
Who may be as human as we are,
And maybe they live on a planet,
Whose Sun is just another star.

LIFE CHANGE — a poem and song by Bill Kochman

LIFE CHANGE

by Bill Kochman

06-10-2018

It matters not how or where we’re born,
Nor the color of each of our skins,
It matters not if we’re rich or poor,
But how we live once our life begins.

We can choose to live so selfishly,
Ignoring those who may have it rough,
Or we can relieve their suffering,
Haven’t they already endured enough?

When everything else is swept aside,
It really comes down to just one thing,
God will judge us by how much we love,
And by how much joy to others we bring.

But by ourselves this is hard to do,
Because our heart is so evil within,
We need to be born of God’s Spirit,
When we ask the Lord Jesus to come in.

He will give us love and compassion,
Such as we have never known before,
So if you need a change in your life,
It is time for you to open the door.

LIES, LIES

by Bill Kochman

08-02-2014

Lies, lies, everywhere just lies,
From the Earth, up to the skies.
Deception rampant, honesty rare,
Hearts grown cold, without a care.

We were warned, how it would be,
Plainly stated, in Bible prophecy.
Jesus saw it, the Apostles too,
But unbelievers don’t have a clue.

Dark time’s here, without a doubt,
Christians waiting, for a way out.
Just keep busy, don’t faint or cry,
Trust the Lord till the day you die.

LIBERAL PLAYGROUND

by Bill Kochman

01-10-2017

We all need to learn the three R’s,
Which is obviously just quite fine,
But when they say we came from apes,
They are really crossing the line.

I wish the problem would end there,
But that is by no means the case,
Now they talk about two moms or dads,
And just shove it in the kids’ face.

School is now a liberal’s playground,
Brainwashing kids with ungodly things,
How long will God endure this madness,
When such ideas His wrath only brings.

LIBERAL — a poem and song by Bill Kochman

#Poetry #Poem

LIBERAL

by Bill Kochman

06-05-2018

I’m a liberal to the core,
Killing babies is my thing,
The LGBT crowd is alright,
I am definitely left-wing.

Let’s bring in immigrants,
Take jobs from mom and dad,
And get them all on welfare,
Oh they’ll be so darn glad.

And what about our president,
We’ve got to bring him down,
Our queen was never throned,
Let’s undermine that clown.

Now whatever the GOP does,
We’ll just do it in reverse,
Drive them into the ground,
Take them away in a hearse.

In case you didn’t know it,
Division is our only creed,
We’ll even cause confusion,
If it happens to meet a need.

Yes, we are America’s friends,
At least so we like to claim,
So when things turn out wrong,
Find someone else to blame.

LIBBER FIBBER

by Bill Kochman

04-02-2019

You say that you are a Progressive,
And Left is how we all should think,
But when you condone killing babies,
I don’t mind saying you really stink.

Your positions are just so distorted,
You yell “Save a whale, save a seal!”,
But when it comes to unborn babies,
It’s alright if the innocents we kill.

You really like to push your narrative,
You insist it’s the only truth in town,
And should someone dare say otherwise,
You are quick to shut that person down.

You control most of mainstream media,
And you censor most conservative views,
If there’s no room for other opinions,
Why bother watching the evening news?

Now you claim you believe in democracy,
You say everyone has a right to speak,
Yet you blacklist opposing viewpoints,
Friend, of hypocrisy you really reek.

Don’t tell me you believe in fairness,
We all know it is just a stupid lie,
This rhyme has exposed you so clearly,
The facts herein you just cannot deny.

LET ME SLEEP! — a poem and song by Bill Kochman

LET ME SLEEP!

by Bill Kochman

02-03-2018

I just wanted to stay asleep,
But he wouldn’t leave me alone,
That preacher said some things,
He invaded my personal zone.

I’m already happy with my life,
So why does he have to intrude?
Someone should really tell him,
That he’s being so awfully rude.

He is worried about my soul,
I often hear preacher guy say,
He warns me I need to repent,
Or I will regret it someday.

That may be what he believes,
But my mind took another route,
So all of that Bible quoting,
He really needs to cut it out.

Buddy, let me just inform you,
I’ve heard your sermons before,
And to be quite frank with you,
I find them to be such a bore.

That book you read is ancient,
It no longer applies today,
So why should I even listen,
To anything you have to say?

Yes, your Jesus was a great man,
But many great men come and go,
So please turn down your volume,
I am tired of hearing you crow.

Thus think many nonbelievers,
Our faith they scorn and mock,
As they sink lower in the mire,
And reject God’s one true Rock.

Just incorrigible reprobates,
So filled with their own pride,
But one day they will face God,
Where are they going to hide?

LEAD WEIGHT

by Bill Kochman

12-02-2016

It really is rather tragic,
The pride within your soul,
Like a lead weight so heavy,
You sink deeper in the hole.

The Lord died for your sins,
You refuse to take a glance,
God offers you His Salvation,
You won’t give Him a chance.

So down and down you tumble,
That weight picks up speed,
Getting very hot down there,
Time to confess your need.

KING KONG PREACHER

by Bill Kochman

09-12-2014

So many Christians just want to argue,
They boast of what is in their mind,
They use God’s Word to slay brethren,
They are really not the humble kind.

Such folks always want to be so right,
They clobber others just like King Kong,
But even if their words are the truth,
Their heart & spirit are still so wrong.

Brother King Kong it’s time to face it,
Take a deep look within your own soul,
It is high time for you to realize,
Preaching in love should be your goal.

KINDNESS

by Bill Kochman

11-25-2016

Just a little bit of kindness,
Can go such a long, long way,
It can give someone real hope,
And even a much brighter day.

The world knows much cruelty,
From the cradle to the grave,
But Jesus left us an example,
When all our sins He forgave.

If we choose to treat others,
With that same type of love,
Being both kind and forgiving,
God will smile down from above.

KEEPER OF THE CROWN

by Bill Kochman

12-06-2016

There is a wonderful Crown of Life,
Which will let us all live forever,
It is not made by any earthly king,
There is no craftsman that clever.

Yes, it is thru Jesus Christ alone,
For the Keeper of the Crown is He,
He opened the way to our Salvation,
Surrendering His life on Calvary.

So once we believe and receive Him,
He holds us in the palm of His hand,
And we’re promised to live forever,
Walking streets in that Eternal Land.

KEEP THE VISION

by Bill Kochman

12-14-2016

Life sometimes throws us curve balls,
Which can distract us from our call,
And if we are not extremely careful,
We may even come down from the wall.

That is why we must keep the vision,
Have it constantly before our eyes,
So when that old serpent attacks us,
We’re not caught off guard by surprise.

So please remain diligent and faithful,
Always keeping Heaven close to mind,
Then no matter what comes your way,
By Grace you’ll be the winning kind.
