JUSTIFIED BY FAITH

by Bill Kochman

04-24-2018

The Law was our schoolmaster,
It taught us all about sin,
Showing us darkness and evil,
Which in us all lurks within.

But by that very same Law,
We cannot ever be justified,
So God had a special plan,
Thus our Savior Jesus died.

There is simply no other way,
Except thru His Blood alone,
Our righteousness is by faith,
For our sins Jesus did atone.

God’s chosen unblemished Lamb,
Knowing no sin, no not at all,
Out of love He was sacrificed,
He was willing to take the fall.

Now justified by His own Blood,
With our Father we have peace,
Rescued from the Mosaic Law,
Our thanks should never cease.

JUST OUTSIDE THE GATE

by Bill Kochman

05-12-2014

A man of the world, he knew so much,
He laughed and took the Devil’s bait,
When talk arose about God and such,
The name of Christ he chose to hate.

Tho friends warned of his great sin,
He said “I’m the master of my fate,
With religious stuff don’t you begin,
Your Jesus will just have to wait.

But death came soon to his own door,
And alas, for him it was too late,
And tho he weeps with eyes so sore,
He now suffers just outside the Gate.

JUST ONE PRAYER

by Bill Kochman

01-24-2019

When you’re sitting in a stew,
Not really sure what to do,
Don’t be sad, don’t be blue,
Ask the Lord to see you through.

Often tho we don’t make the call,
We don’t think of Him at all.
We struggle along in our test,
Just really hoping for the best.

Then when things go really sour,
We cry, Oh God I need your power.
I am sorry, I dropped the ball,
Please don’t let me take a fall.

Then God whispers in your ear,
Oh silly child, I’m always near.
I’ve been waiting for you to ask,
To help you out with your task.

It’s not yours alone to bear,
All I needed was just one prayer.

JUST ME AND MY TV

by Bill Kochman

12-13-2016

Forget having your family time,
That is just so out-of-style,
I have got my night planned out,
Gonna be flippin’ this TV dial.

All of my favorite shows are on,
Man, I’m gonna have so much fun,
Hey! Why am I all alone in here?
To where did everyone else run?

They’ve got better things to do,
Being family, not acting so rude,
But you go ahead, watch your TV,
It’s your own loss, stupid dude.

JUST IGNORE THIS GRAPHIC

by Bill Kochman

09-30-2019

Please just ignore this graphic,
And don’t think that I’m a pest,
But I need to make some changes,
To pass the structured data test.

Google groans at my 500×400 pics,
Says my dimensions are not right,
So I need to bite the AMP bullet,
Or on SERPs I’ll be out of sight.

Thus 696×560 will be the new size,
It may cause a problem or even two,
But Google makes all of the rules,
So what else can this poor guy do?

JUST A FEW STEPS MORE

by Bill Kochman

07-28-2014

When you’re in the midst of battle,
And all your defenses seem so weak,
When your cage Satan does rattle,
And to your mind his lies speak,

Don’t just run for the back door,
Or faint right there on the floor,
Get quiet, listen to the dear Lord,
He’ll say “Just a few steps more.”

You’re so close to a great victory,
Devil’s defeated, oh don’t you see,
You can win your crown so easily,
If you just take a few steps more

JUST A DIFFERENT SHOE

by Bill Kochman

12-09-2016

Some people say that I am talented,
While they feel that they are not,
But let me tell you quite plainly,
That is really just a bunch of rot.

You in fact have your special gifts,
Some things which even I cannot do,
We’re all part of the very same body,
Except that we are a different shoe.

Each one of us is just a little part,
But together we make up God’s whole,
So pray and discover your uniqueness,
Then do it with your heart and soul.

JUNE 26, 2015

by Bill Kochman

07-03-2015

You claim you are a Christian nation,
So why do you pass this abomination?
You defy God’s Laws and spit in His face,
Your Christianity is such a big disgrace.

Many people love Him, but only in name,
Their own actions, put them to shame.
Misguided laws challenge the Most High,
When judgment falls, many will ask why.

Will God hear if we cry aloud with voice?
Or will He say “You made your own choice”?
Oh what a wicked nation you have become,
To godly conviction, you are now so numb.

JUDEO-CHRISTIAN FAITH? — a poem and song by Bill Kochman

JUDEO-CHRISTIAN FAITH?

by Bill Kochman

11-17-2016

Some call it Judeo-Christian faith,
But I find the phrase quite absurd,
My reason is really quite simple,
Most Jews reject God’s full Word.

The first Disciples were all Jews,
As was our Lord Jesus himself,
But when the Jews rejected Christ,
God then left them on the shelf.

We can’t mix sweet with the bitter,
Nor the darkness with the light,
God’s Word declares this plainly,
So please get your doctrine right.

JOY OF YOUTH

by Bill Kochman

12-20-2016

The vibrancy of one’s youth,
Is indeed a sight to behold,
They’ve no idea what awaits,
Once they grow tired and old.

Full of joy & so much energy,
That seems boundless and free,
It’s such wonderful laughter,
For an old person such as me.

May children enjoy their time,
While problems seem far away,
Someday they must all grow up,
Hopefully to make a better day.

JOURNEY TO HUMILITY

by Bill Kochman

10-18-2014

The journey was long, I played my card,
I tried it my way, it was oh so hard.
Time after time, I made a big mess,
I had no peace, I only knew stress.

I fell on my face, I laid in the dirt,
Somebody help me, take away my hurt.
I knew not then God had His eye on me,
He saw me suffer, but said it had to be.

My pride was so great, I did not know,
God had to break me, and bring me low.
Now I’m so thankful, He gave me a shove,
He knocked me down, with His tough love.

JOHN 3:16

by Bill Kochman

01-06-2017

For God so loved the world,
He gave His only Son,
Our sins are all forgotten,
He remembers not a one.

Indeed, such a great love,
None on Earth can compare,
That Jesus would die for us,
So we can join Him there.

Today His love is with us,
He cares for our every need,
As we too die daily for Him,
Keeping busy sowing the seed.

JESUS WEB

by Bill Kochman

11-02-2016

One thread at a single time,
Thus a spider’s web is spun,
So we online Christians too,
With each friend who is won.

We search around the world,
To find another lonely soul,
We tell them about the Lord,
Then He can make them whole.

That’s how the process goes,
Jesus web grows every day,
Joining His family together,
Hearts from lands far away.

JESUS IN YOUR HEART

by Bill Kochman

11-26-2016

You say that you’re not fancy,
You claim that you’re not smart,
Most people seem to ignore you,
From your company they depart.

They say that you are strange,
Well just look at that old fart,
Just a big drain on the system,
They cast another verbal dart.

But one thing you’ve got going,
You beat them from the start,
Because this I know about you,
You’ve got Jesus in your heart.

JESUS FREAK OR FREAK!

by Bill Kochman

08-28-2014

You may call me a Jesus Freak,
But there’s something you should know,
While I’m bathing in God’s presence,
You’ll be residing far below.

One day I’ll go to my reward,
For God’s Will I did truly seek,
But when you find out what’s down there,
You are really going to freak.

Then you’ll wish you had done like me,
But sadly it will be too late,
Many times you denied the Lord,
So don’t complain about your fate.

JELLO PEOPLE

by Bill Kochman

08-22-2014

Some people are just like jello,
They shake and wiggle and roll,
They do anything to be accepted,
Even if it means their own soul.

Such people have no backbone,
They quickly bend in the breeze,
They will compromise the truth,
If it fills their life with ease.

Such folks fill God with sadness,
He wishes they’d get some guts,
Boldly go out and preach His Word,
Without any ifs, ands or buts.

JAMES 3

by Bill Kochman

02-10-2018

Oh that wretched tongue,
What an unruly member,
Sometimes it will burn,
Like the hottest ember.

When we become angry,
We let off with a curse,
If we don’t control it,
It could get even worse.

Apostle James was right,
He said it so very well,
Untameable wild thing,
It’s set on fire of hell.

JACK & JILL: THE REAL STORY

by Bill Kochman

10-08-2019

Up the hill went Jack and his wife,
Both hoping to drink Water of Life.
No Crown of Life did Jack receive,
For he had failed to really believe.

As for Jill, she so loved her Jack,
And that is why she too slid back.
It takes faith to climb the mount,
So the cost you must wisely count.

In your own strength do not abide,
For if you do, you’ll surely slide.
If you are expecting to truly win,
Trust in God even before you begin.

IT’S NO SECRET

by Bill Kochman

06-17-2018

It’s not in me, and it’s not in you,
It’s only God who can see us through.
For if you think you can do it well,
Make no mistake, you’re bound to fail.

You can surely boast in your pride,
But only fools in God do not abide.
Our strength alone is just not enough,
We’ll fall down when the going’s tough.

It’s no secret where our strength lies,
On Jesus alone we must keep our eyes.
Yes, we are weak, but He is strong,
So trust in Him to sing victory’s song.

IT’S MY RIGHT!

by Bill Kochman

12-05-2016

You say it is your right,
To smoke a pack per day,
I should mind my own biz,
Just stay out of your way.

If I didn’t really care,
I could do that my friend,
Let you waste your life,
Till the very bitter end.

As cancer eats your lungs,
And you scream out in pain,
Just remember one thing,
There’s only you to blame.
