If there is one thing you need to know,
It is that law is law and grace is grace,
Yet it is so extremely sad to see now,
How in our day things are out of place.
Just like those Jewish legalists of old,
Who kept people under a heavy yoke,
Some Christians just don’t understand,
What Jesus & the Apostles truly spoke.
Oh, how they love to wield God’s Word,
As though it is just a terrible cutting axe,
Attacking you if you disagree with them,
While they ignore some Scriptural facts.
Now if we’re truly saved by God’s grace,
And not by the works of the Mosaic Law,
Then surely it would seem quite evident,
In their theology there is a serious flaw.
Yes, we remain bound by the moral laws,
Summed up in the commandment of love,
But regarding all of that ceremonial stuff,
How the legalists all try to push & shove.
Either Christ’s blood is sufficient enough,
To fully pay for the gift of one’s Salvation,
Or we are stuck with obeying the full law,
Which leaves us an impossible situation.
For as the old Apostle James once wrote,
Breaking one law is just like breaking all,
Meaning we would be guilty before God,
And eternal death would be our final call.
Thus in the law don’t dare put your trust,
Place your faith in Jesus Christ instead,
For He will surely raise you to eternal life,
Even tho you have lain in the grave dead.
