So I have heard you have this idea,
Being a great preacher of the Lord,
You see yourself before a big crowd,
Raising high your Christian sword.
Your heart is so filled with emotion,
Seeing how your words they admire,
But I have to ask you a big question,
Is that really the Lord’s true desire?
Now wanting to serve Jesus Christ,
Is truly a very noble vision indeed,
But you also need to be so careful,
That your own ego it does not feed.
When the Lord spoke of greatness,
He stated it was to be servant of all,
It’s not seeking our own recognition,
But serving with humility God’s call.
If you just desire the praise of men,
While before a big crowd you stand,
Your motive for preaching is wrong,
It is important that you understand.
So just make Jesus front and center,
Because He alone is God’s true Light,
And if you follow this my suggestion,
Then all your preaching will be right.
“ASK, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For EVERY ONE THAT ASKETH RECEIVETH; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.” Matthew 7:7-8, KJV
“And all things, WHATSOEVER YE SHALL ASK IN PRAYER, believing, ye shall receive.” Matthew 21:22, KJV
“If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them THAT ASK HIM?” Luke 11:13, KJV
And WHATSOEVER YE SHALL ASK in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. IF YE SHALL ASK ANY THING in my name, I will do it.” John 14:13-14, KJV
“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: THAT WHATSOEVER YE SHALL ASK of the Father in my name, he may give it you.” John 15:16, KJV
“And in that day YE SHALL ASK ME NOTHING. Verily, verily, I say unto you, WHATSOEVER YE SHALL ASK the Father in my name, he will give it you. Hitherto have YE ASKED NOTHING IN MY NAME: ASK, AND YE SHALL RECEIVE, that your joy may be full.” John 16:23-24, KJV
“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly ABOVE ALL THAT WE ASK OR THINK, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.” Ephesians 3:20-21, KJV
“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ASK OF GOD, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But LET HIM ASK IN FAITH, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.” James 1:5-8, KJV
“YE ASK, and receive not, because YE ASK AMISS, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.” James 4:3, KJV
“And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, IF WE ASK ANY THING ACCORDING TO HIS WILL, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, WHATSOEVER WE ASK, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.” 1 John 5:14-15, KJV

“He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:29-31, KJV
“For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.” Matthew 24:27-28, KJV
“And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together.” Luke 17:37, KJV
“For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.” 1 Thessalonians 4:15-18, KJV
“The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.” Psalm 90:10, KJV
