SAMSON

A very long time ago in Israel,
There was a dude named Samson,
The girls were so gaga over him,
‘Cause he was strong & handsome.

Samson wed a woman of Timnath,
But she was one deceptive lass,
Thus, he later killed 1,000 men,
Just with the jawbone of an ass.

After judging Israel for 20 years,
Poor Samson’s fate finally came,
A beauty in the Valley of Sorek,
Delilah was that cute gal’s name.

So in love was he with that girl,
He told the secret of his strength,
Oh dear, what a terrible mistake,
They cut his long locks at length.

Weakened now & without the Lord,
The Philistines took out his eyes,
But as he ground in the prison house,
The Lord heard poor Samson’s cries.

Little by little his hair grew back,
And he became stronger day by day,
So that when Dagon’s feast arrived,
Thousands of Philistines he did slay.
