SKIP THE CHIP

by Bill Kochman

Well, they offered me a biochip,
When I arrived at my job today,
It would make everything easier,
With real money no need to pay.

Just lift my hand and then scan,
Doors would open with no fuss,
I could quickly pay for my meals,
Or catch a ride on the local bus.

Banking would also be a cinch,
No long lines or writing a check,
It seemed like a wonderful thing,
So I thought, sure, what the heck.

Well, things went well for a time,
I was really enjoying my biohack,
But then it really freaked me out,
Because they were keeping track.

Nothing in my life was kept secret,
My privacy was totally overridden.
No matter how hard I even tried,
I could not keep anything hidden.

Well I decided to remove that chip,
Boss didn’t like it but he did agree,
So I am now back standing in line.
But at least I can say that I’m free.
