SLOW BURN

by Bill Kochman

12-17-2018

Some preachers burn brightly,
Oh how the crowds love them so,
But often some years later,
We wonder where did they go?

It’s better to be a slow burn,
Than a no burn down in defeat,
It is better to plod slowly,
So the race we can complete.

It takes the Divine Spirit,
Just to keep our spark alive,
For if we try in the flesh,
No doubt we will not survive.

Only the Lord can keep us,
Straight on the Gospel track,
By His Power we push forward,
Though that Devil may attack.

And if we just keep running,
No matter what he may send,
God has given us a promise,
A crown we’ll have in the end.
