SOMETHING FROM NOTHING

by Bill Kochman

God made everything from nothing,
It can be hard to believe indeed,
Yet still it makes so much sense,
If we will just take the time to read.

All visible things which are seen,
Are made from what doesn’t appear,
Thus long ago wrote Apostle Paul,
Perhaps we should give him an ear.

Even several hundred years before,
The ancient Greeks coined a name,
They called those things “atomos”,
From which everything has a frame.

Now we’ve got neutrons and protons,
They are both built upon the quark,
For centuries we did not know this,
Our knowledge remained in the dark.

There are particles called electrons,
Around the nucleus they take flight,
And when these objects accelerate,
They will radiate a certain light.

But because we can’t even see them
Atoms do seem like nothing at all,
For centuries it was merely a theory,
Until we broke through that wall.

But from even the very beginning,
God made everything that was to be,
All held together just by His power,
From distant galaxies to you and me
