STARS

by Bill Kochman

Stars falling from the skies,
Is what those ancients thought,
Wondering if it was possible,
For a single star to be caught.

Alas, so many strange ideas,
Were believed in those days,
As they sought to understand,
The Almighty’s wonderful ways.

But truly going to Outer Space?
Surely it was a dream of fools,
Because in those olden times,
Man did not possess the tools.

But now centuries have passed,
And we sing a different tune,
Perhaps with Elon Musk’s help,
We’ll make it back to the Moon.

No doubt you heard his quest,
Yes, to make his mark on Mars,
And should we make it that far,
Will we continue to the stars?
