THANKS FOR THE SPANK

by Bill Kochman

04-13-2023

It is obviously not much fun,
When God gives us a spank,
Yet if we were actually smart,
We’d stop to give Him a thank.

If He did not really care for us,
We’d all go our stubborn way,
But no doubt sooner or later,
We’d eventually have to pay.

So being such a loving Father,
God will at times give a whack,
You see, He only has one goal,
To keep us all on the right track.

Now although we may not like it,
And may even try to complain,
The Lord in His wisdom knows,
His chastisement is not in vain.

Eventually we will come to see,
That what He dealt us was right,
And from that point and forward,
We will walk humbly in His sight.
