THE DAM

by Bill Kochman

In the olden days of the Bible,
Walled cities were the norm,
They would keep out invaders,
Who’d rush them like a storm.

But today our leaders are mad,
They leave wide open the gate,
So if the flood continues to rise,
We may soon face an awful fate.

Even now we see the bad fruit,
As terrorists and thugs creep in,
Bringing drugs, rape and murder,
And every other vile kind of sin.

The dam may very soon burst,
If we don’t get our house in order,
We need to plug up all the holes,
That are at our southern border.
