THOSE STRANGE VOICES

by Bill Kochman

Some people ask “Do you hear from God?”
Well, I never get a name and address,
I just know it doesn’t all come from me,
So I just assume it must be God, I guess.

Now some would say I should be committed,
If those strange voices I really do hear,
But it’s not really such an audible voice,
That speaks loudly within my own ear.

It is more like something deep within,
Usually soft, distant but so very clear,
Whoever it is, they seem close to me,
And I know I really have nothing to fear.
