WALK, DON’T RUN

by Bill Kochman

Sometimes we are in such a hurry,
We really want to get things done,
We are anxious to see the results,
Instead of walking we try to run.

Then when things just don’t happen,
Discouragement soon comes our way,
We sink into a pit of our own making,
Did we listen to what God has to say?

You see, God is in no great hurry,
He takes His time to effect His Will,
Instead of getting bent out of shape,
We need to trust Him and then be still.

Yes, it’s true we must do what we can,
We must exercise faith and do our part,
But trying to push in our own strength,
My friend, it really isn’t being smart.

So just commit your way unto the Lord,
And do what you can obviously do,
Then sit back in confidence and faith,
Knowing that God will see you through.
