WATCH YOUR WORDS
by Bill Kochman
10-15-2024
In the multitude of words,
There wanteth not a sin,
So we should be careful,
From the minute we begin.
But if we refrain our lips,
Indeed we are very wise,
There is a lesser chance,
We’ll spew forth just lies.
Indeed, be swift to hear,
And very slow to speak,
It is then easier to find,
An answer that we seek.
Rashness in our mouth,
Can create quite a stew,
So once again I advise,
That your words be few.
To answer before we hear,
Leads to folly and shame,
Thus if we’re not careful,
We could take the blame.
Yea, to utter all our mind,
Just turns us into a fool,
So the key lesson here is,
Learn to keep your cool.
For if the truth we speak,
We’ll indeed be justified,
But we’ll be condemned,
If by chance we have lied.
