Isaiah 1:4-6
While I wouldn't exactly describe these verses as my favorite verses, given the proud, rebellious, haughty attitude of the United States in recent years, these verses have certainly been on my mind a lot lately. Much more will God endure before He decides to lower the axe? "Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the LORD, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward. Why should ye be stricken any more? ye will revolt more and more: the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint. From the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and putrifying sores: they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment." Isaiah 1:4-6, KJV "And the LORD appeared to Solomon by night, and said unto him, I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for an house of sacrifice. If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people; If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:12-14, KJV _________________ Bill Kochman Bill’s Bible Basics wordweaver777@gmail.com https://www.billkochman.com https://www.csnet.live |
