Continuing our discussion from part two, and returning to the topic of the pollution of our minds by the manipulative and deceptive powers that be, it should be rather apparent to any God-fearing, Bible-believing Christian, that mental pollution has likewise occurred in a religious sense. As I have discussed before, what in many churches today is said to be the truth of God, is in reality corrupt, adulterated, perverted and distorted religious nonsense which has little resemblance to the real Word of God. This spiritual poison is espoused and promoted by hired preachers who must do as they are told by the church board, unless they want to find themselves out of a job.

These false, materialistic shepherds have compromised with the world, in order to gain public recognition and prestige, and of course, to reap a personal fortune at the expense of their followers. I expose these deceivers in articles such as "Abundant Life Doctrine: Scripturally Exposed!' and also "Money-Making Bible Hucksters and Mammon". As I explain in those articles, this vile practice is nothing new. Almost two thousand years ago, the Apostle Peter likewise warned of those greedy preachers who would "make merchandise of you", as we see by the following verse:

"And through covetousness shall they with feigned words MAKE MERCHANDISE OF YOU: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not."
2 Peter 2:3, KJV


Aside from their insatiable greed for money, these enemies of the truth have totally despiritualized the Holy Bible, and have convinced many of their congregants that some things are no longer applicable to our modern day. Either that, or these deceptive false angels of light will claim that some verses mean something entirely different from what we have all been traditionally taught for many decades now. In his second Epistle while discussing the Epistles of Paul, the Apostle Peter raised the alarm when he referred to this practice of twisting the meaning of God's Word as wresting the Scriptures, as we see by the following verse:

"And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, WHICH THEY THAT ARE UNLEARNED AND UNSTABLE WREST, AS THEY DO ALSO THE OTHER SCRIPTURES, unto their own destruction."
2 Peter 3:15-16, KJV


Perhaps one of the most pronounced examples of this type of deception is the fact that all of a sudden, even though the Bible teaches quite to the contrary, some wayward churches are now claiming that it is okay for men and women to marry each other. If that is not bad enough, as many of you will already know, it is now acceptable to have gay and lesbian ministers, priests and bishops. For my latest thoughts regarding this subject, please consider reading "Future of Same-Sex Marriage". One thing is for certain. God has NOT changed His mind regarding this wicked practice. What He considered sin thousands of years ago is STILL sin today. Consider a few example verses:

"If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them."
Leviticus 20:13, KJV


"The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God."
Deuteronomy 22:5, KJV


"Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;"
Romans 1:24-28, KJV


Sadly, some of these misguided preachers and church teachers have also compromised with modern science, and have attempted to diminish the Power and Glory of God, by saying that events and miracles which are found in the Bible can be explained by scientific means. Maybe they are simply embarrassed to speak Biblical truth -- such as the Six Days of Creation -- because it is contrary to modern scientific dogma, and they are just unable to handle the pressure of going against the grain and political correctness. I honestly don't know. Whatever the case may be, it seems that for them at least, it is now okay to interpret the Six Days of Creation as thousands, or even millions, of years. Then, of course, we have churches which are full of strange manifestations which seem more like demonic possession than the real Spirit of God. The way those people jerk and twitch and roll on the floor is very alarming. How they believe it is the Spirit of God working in them is beyond me. I discuss this particular subject in articles such as "God's Golden Teeth, or Satan's Delusion?". In thinking about the way some of them behave, I am reminded of the demoniac we find in the Gospels of Mark and Luke. In the following verses, notice how the demoniac is rolling around on the ground and foaming at the mouth:

"And one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit; And wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him: and he foameth, and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not. He answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me. And they brought him unto him: and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming. And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child. And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us. Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief. When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him. And the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; insomuch that many said, He is dead. But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose. Mark 9:17-27, KJV
"And, behold, a man of the company cried out, saying, Master, I beseech thee, look upon my son: for he is mine only child. And, lo, a spirit taketh him, and he suddenly crieth out; and it teareth him that he foameth again, and bruising him hardly departeth from him. And I besought thy disciples to cast him out; and they could not. And Jesus answering said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you, and suffer you? Bring thy son hither. And as he was yet a coming, the devil threw him down, and tare him. And Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the child, and delivered him again to his father."
Luke 9:38-42, KJV


To our own shame, some wayward churches allow scantily-clad women to attend their services as if there is nothing wrong with appearing before the Lord that way. It is bad enough that such women romp around in public dressed like that. But to dress -- or barely dress -- in the same fashion when one attends what is claimed to be the "house of God" is simply disgraceful. As you will know, there are also those churches which seem more like social nightclubs where the Word of God is sparse, and the music is just blaring. Such churches have placed entertainment above really feeding God's sheep. I am just touching lightly on some of these subjects, because I discuss them more at length in other articles I have written, all of which you can find on the Bill's Bible Basics website.

While we have taken somewhat of a detour from our main topic of discussion regarding science and technology, in reality, it is all interrelated, because all of these things are the products and manifestations of the same evil, false spirit of the world, which is presided over by Satan himself, who as many of you will know, is the god of this world. Sadly, many of us have allowed our minds, hearts and spirits to become polluted and tempted by, and have even succumbed to, the evil enticements of the world, which that old Devil just loves to constantly throw in our faces. No matter what it is, as long as it will appeal to our fleshly desires, that foul fiend will try to use it to trip us up, to cause us to backslide, and to become totally useless to the Lord. As I shared with you earlier, the Apostle John offers the following warning to his readers, and the Apostle Paul offers his advice as well:

"Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world."
1 John 2:15-16, KJV


"While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal."
2 Corinthians 4:18, KJV


"And they that use this world, as not abusing it: for the fashion of this world passeth away."
1 Corinthians 7:31, KJV


These are the worthless, temporal things which are offered by the god of this world, which have blinded so many people to the truth of God's Word. It does not matter what it is. If we are not careful, anything in our lives can become our god, whether it is science and technology, the pursuit of knowledge and a higher education, a well-paying job, a top spot in the music charts, a dream home, a long-sought-for political appointment, our car, our wife or husband, or our boyfriend or girlfriend. So many things. The truth is that anything we place before God becomes our god.

Sadly, due to the amazing quantity of modern inventions and technological developments, the lives of so many people have become totally unnatural. Let's face it. The truth is that we have all been guilty to one degree or another. Clearly by intentional design, we have been taken away from our Creator, and placed in front of the TV, video, or movie theater screen where we indulge in our lusts for violence, sex, and those things which we will never possess, unless we are willing to slave away and sell our souls to Satan.

Our lives are polluted with noise, colors, sights, sounds and comforts on a daily, non-stop basis, which distract us from and make us totally forget about God. As a result, the still, small voice of God has almost been silenced in our present world by all of this devilish noise and confusion. And who knows. At the rate we are going, it may possibly be that the god of this world will completely silence God's Voice one of these days, unless the Lord chooses to intervene.

It is interesting to note that noise pollution did not even exist until about one hundred years ago. We live in a world of total, man-made confusion as the downtown area of any big city will clearly attest. Very similar to Babylon the Great of Biblical notoriety, modern cities are deceptive centers of temporal pleasures, and their downtown areas are the very core of their iniquity. It is there where the merchants and the city's inhabitants fornicate with the spirit of their city on a daily basis. I find it rather interesting that in describing this worldwide confusion, the masses of people, and the murmuring of many voices, uses such terminology as "the rushing of mighty waters", "the noise of the seas", "the rushing of many waters", "the troubled sea", and "the sea and the waves roaring". Consider the following group of verses:

"Woe to the multitude of many people, which make a noise LIKE THE NOISE OF THE SEAS; and to the rushing of nations, that make a rushing like THE RUSHING OF MIGHTY WATERS! The nations shall rush like THE RUSHING OF MANY WATERS: but God shall rebuke them, and they shall flee far off, and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like a rolling thing before the whirlwind."
Isaiah 17:12-13, KJV


"But THE WICKED ARE LIKE THE TROUBLED SEA, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt. There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked."
Isaiah 57:20-21, KJV


"And he saith unto me, The WATERS WHICH THOU SAWEST, where the whore sitteth, ARE PEOPLES, AND MULTITUDES, AND NATIONS, AND TONGUES."
Revelation 17:15, KJV


"And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; THE SEA AND THE WAVES ROARING;"
Luke 21:25, KJV


What very appropriate phrases. These verses can certainly be used to describe our modern world. After all, aside from all of the confusing noise which is constantly emanating from the heart of every big city, people are indeed rushing everywhere. Running to and fro. Flying here and flying there. Driving here and driving there. Taking a boat here or taking a boat there. Taking buses, trolleys, subways, bullet trains, cars, vans, trucks and motorcycles. Flying in passenger planes, jets and private planes. Such a mass of man-made confusion as everyone is so busy trying to get somewhere, just like a disturbed colony of ants. I am reminded of a verse which is found in Psalm 2 which says the following:

"Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?"
Psalm 2:1, KJV


In the previous verse, the word "rage" is referring to being angry; particularly to being angry against God. However, did you know that there is another verse where the word "rage" is used in quite a different manner? In describing the coming destruction of Nineveh by the forces of the king of Babylon, the Prophet Nahum wrote something which I personally believe is referring to Roman chariots raging in the streets at the time of Jesus' appearance in Israel during the First Century. Consider these two verses:

"The shield of his mighty men is made red, the valiant men are in scarlet: the chariots shall be with flaming torches in the day of his preparation, and the fir trees shall be terribly shaken. The chariots shall rage in the streets, they shall justle one against another in the broad ways: they shall seem like torches, they shall run like the lightnings."
Nahum 2:3-4, KJV


While the previous verses are describing something which occurred centuries ago, even in our modern day almost 2,000 years later, modern chariots -- cars, trucks, SUVs, etc. -- also continue to "rage" in the streets. We are all familiar with traffic jams miles long in which people are angrily honking their horns due to their impatience, and getting upset with each other. Just look at how many people become enraged with each other in daily auto accidents or backups in any major city of the world. So people have been raging in the streets ever since the previous verses were written. They are raging with each other, and some of them are also raging against God Himself, sad to say.

Of course, traffic snarls are not the only kind of raging in the streets which is going on. As you no doubt know, in recent decades, people have been becoming more and more upset with their political leaders due to a wide range of issues, from political corruption, to social injustices, to lack of proper health care, to national security issues, to discrimination against minorities, to oppression of our basic rights and freedoms, to economic inequality and more. Sadly, as the people's patience grows thin, and their rage increases, we are seeing more destructive violence in the streets. So again, the oppressed peoples of the world are indeed raging like the troubled sea.

But exactly what is it that's behind this rushing of many waters in our modern times? It is in fact our science and our modern technology which fuels and supports the entire system. It is our technology which keeps us in touch with what is going on in the world. It is our technology which allows us to express our satisfaction or our anger. It is our technology which allows us all to survive in the modern world. Whether we like it or not, we are totally dependent on it for our daily survival, and most of us would be lost without it. At the very least, we would probably be majorly frustrated and bored to death.

But imagine if due to some unexpected event or cause, our technology came to a standstill, or was suddenly taken away from us completely. What if a Coronal Mass Ejection -- or CME -- from the Sun fried all electronic equipment the world over? Equally devastating, what if a certain enemy caught us by surprise, and exploded multiple nuclear warheads over our country, resulting in very powerful EMPs -- Electromagnetic Pulses -- which basically accomplished the same thing as a huge CME from the Sun? One thing is for certain. Without our technology, we would still be living much like people did during the eighteenth century or even earlier. Of course, we also would be living a lifestyle which would be more benign to the Earth, and which would probably motivate some of us to draw closer to God as well. Clearly, that would be a good thing.

My friends, it is evident that we are living in very troubled times, and there are some very wicked players out there who would in fact use modern science and technology for some very evil purposes, if it would help them to achieve their goals. While no one has dropped a nuclear weapon on anyone since the end of World War 2, even now, national governments are using modern technology to spy on each other, to wage limited wars with each other, to threaten each other, to control the flow of goods around the world, to influence the world's financial markets, and as I noted earlier, to manipulate the quality and quantity of information which is intentionally being fed to us on a daily basis in order to mold our worldview.

It is the last point with which we as individual citizens and Christians need to be concerned; particularly now that AI -- Artificial Intelligence -- has been let out of the box in a very public way. Even before ChatGPT was made public -- and since then followed by so many other iterations of Artificial Intelligence -- this world was already inundated with so much deception and lies. Now, with such things as AI and Deepfake technology, the level of deception and confusion is about to get a lot worse. It is going to become much more difficult to be able to separate the truth from the lie, because these technologies can be very convincing. Just try conversing with one of the AI chatbots and you will see what I mean. Now just imagine if that conversation is accompanied by a deepfake of some politician or other public leader.

So how can we as Christians avoid becoming deceived by the lies of the world? As far as I am concerned, the only way to keep ourselves safe is by staying close to the Lord, and by diligently studying His Word. We must read and study it daily so that we can know what is true and what is false. Likewise, we must ask for the Gifts of Wisdom and Spiritual Discernment to assist us in our daily living. Lastly, we must strive to purge anything from our lives which serves as a distraction, and which prevents us from doing our very best for the Lord. In my view, this is the only way in which we can prevent the Devil's hypnotic spell from overtaking us and deceiving us.

Furthermore, in order to keep ourselves from being mesmerized by those things which Satan offers us, we must keep our eyes set on something higher, and something which transcends the physical pleasures, sights and sounds of this current carnal, temporal, evil world. Simply put, we need to keep the Heavenly Vision. We must keep our eyes firmly fixed on Jesus -- who is the Author and the Finisher of our faith -- and on that City and Heavenly Country which He has prepared for us. If we do this, He will help us to maintain our faith until the day in which He calls each of us Home. This is what all of the great men and women of faith in the Bible did; and it is what we must continue to do as well. Please consider the following group of verses:

"Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God."
Hebrews 12:2, KJV


"Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:"
Philippians 1:6, KJV


"For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure."
Philippians 2:13, KJV


"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."
John 14:1-3, KJV


"These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city."

"And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God."

Whatever you do, do not allow this present wicked world to entice you and lead you astray with her many delicacies. As I said earlier, keep your eyes firmly set on Jesus, and not on the world. After all, as we have seen, this world is a deceptive illusion which has been created by the Devil, and which has been built in large part upon modern science and technology. It is a false foundation. If you are wise, you will build your life on the right foundation. As the Bible informs us, and as I amply explain in the article called "Who is Building Your House?", that foundation is faith in Jesus Christ, as we see by this verse:

"For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ."
1 Corinthians 3:11, KJV


On the other hand, if you are feeling self-satisfied with your achievements in this life; if you have attained to some position of power, fame or fortune; just remember that when you die, you will suffer loss, because you built upon the wrong foundation. Furthermore, you will be ashamed once your life has passed, and you stand before God. Please consider this group of verses:

"For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels."
Mark 8:36-38, KJV


"For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out."
1 Timothy 6:7, KJV


"It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life."
John 6:63, KJV


Being as achieving power, fame and wealth in this life is such a vain and pointless endeavor, and that all will be lost upon death anyway, wouldn't it be wiser to spend your allotted years on the Earth doing things which will reap you Eternal Rewards in Heaven? The choice is really up to you. Just remember that your time on this Earth may be shorter than you realize. After all, none of us knows what may happen in our lives tomorrow. Consider this set of verses:

"The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away."
Psalm 90:10, KJV


"Man is like to vanity: his days are as a shadow that passeth away."
Psalm 144:4, KJV


"The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass. The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever."
Isaiah 40:7-8, KJV


"But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?"
Luke 12:20, KJV


"And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:"

"Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away."

So let me ask you: Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? If not, I encourage you to do so now. All you have to do is admit that you are a sinner, recognize that you need God's help, recognize who can save you, and ask God to forgive you for your sins by placing your faith in the Sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ. God is willing to accept you, if you will repent of your unbelief. Consider the following verses:

"The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."
2 Peter 3:9, KJV


"I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."
Luke 5:32, KJV


"But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin."
1 John 1:7, KJV


"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
Romans 10:9-10, KJV
