BAD FRUIT

We have all heard of the story,
About old Satan and his pride,
Not so happy with his position,
By God he chose not to abide.

So cast out and down in Eden,
To a woman called Eve he lied,
Then giving that fruit to Adam,
To eat it he then too did decide.

What a sad mistake they made,
Which just could not be denied,
Thus when God looked for them,
Indeed they both wanted to hide.

Alas, what have you now done?
Why didn’t you stay by my side?
Not wanting to take the blame,
“It was the woman!” Adam cried.

So God then cursed that serpent,
On your belly you shall now glide,
But as for foolish Adam and Eve,
Growing old they eventually died.

Our story doesn’t quite end there,
Sin and death spread like a tide,
Yet due to God’s love and mercy,
We escape if in Jesus we confide.

So listen well and don’t be foolish,
You need to get off of Satan’s ride,
Accept God’s love & forgiveness,
So to sin’s curse you won’t be tied.
