THEIR TAX BROKE OUR BACKS

by Bill Kochman

I’m really sick of all their taxes,
Yeah, those G-men with their axes.
Take a cut here, another one there,
Man, I so want to pull out my hair!

What really gives them their right,
There’s no way you can even fight.
If paying your taxes you ever fail,
Just like that you wind up in jail.

The rich live well, we all know why,
Constantly robbing the little guy.
We work so hard just to get our pay,
But then a huge chunk is taken away.

Dare complain, a patriot you’re not,
Don’t you get mad at all their rot?
Just like that half my check is gone,
Makes me feel just like their pawn.

They say our money funds public works,
But I don’t trust those G-men jerks.
I need to see proof with my own eyes,
Because I am tired of all their lies.

Many roads and bridges in disrepair,
But the rich dudes don’t really care.
The water mains still made with lead,
Just look at all those folks now dead.

Sure, we escaped from old King George,
Yet on our dollars, elite still gorge.
Maybe that old master we did switch,
But new one’s still got a greedy itch.

Thus from dawn to dusk we all do sweat,
But where your money goes don’t forget.
In their high towers they sit and dine,
But like a prodigal we sit with swine.
