ALL HAIL TO THE PROFIT MARGIN!

by Bill Kochman

All hail to the profit margin,
Indeed the god of the Earth,
When we all look upon you,
We see a company’s worth.

Yes it’s by your great power,
A company will stand or fall,
But if it should be the latter,
No one will ever invest at all.

How we seek to please thee,
Even tho it costs our health,
Your appetite is so insatiable,
Yet we must feed your wealth.

So we slave away every day,
Putting our lives on the line,
We are dedicated servants,
Thus we never think to whine.

Making our god even greater,
We will do whatever it takes,
Turn your head the other way,
We will even sell a few fakes.

Yes anything to increase profit,
Scruples we really have none,
Sure, we will cut a few corners,
To give our brand a good run.

At last when our lives are over,
We’ll look back with such pride,
We made our company great,
It was really just one swell ride!
