COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS

by Bill Kochman

You need to count your blessings,
Instead of griping all the time,
The Lord has always been faithful,
Have you ever been down to a dime?

He promises to provide our needs,
And knows them before we even ask,
So if He made the entire Universe,
Answering prayers is an easy task.

But how we just love to complain,
Spoiled children we all seem to be,
Oh we grumble about so many things,
His goodness we blindly fail to see.

No doubt it must make the Lord sad,
When we don’t see what He has done,
Perhaps we would suddenly wake up,
If our blessings were reduced to none.

Let us therefore strive to be thankful,
No more whining in the Lord’s ear,
Praise Him for the things you have,
For He has kept you year after year.
