FEED ME!

So my friend drove me to church,
Said I needed to hear God’s Word,
We sat there for close to an hour,
And not one verse I ever heard.

They all sang a number of hymns,
And clapped and praised the Lord,
But by the time of announcements,
Well, I was really getting bored.

The pastor mentioned a bake sale,
As the collection plate came by,
Then the band blared out music,
I just asked myself, why oh why?

My friend was happy and smiling,
When we finally left that place,
As for me I was so disappointed,
His church was one big disgrace.

They went through all the motions,
And seemed quite on fire for God,
But the fact no Bible was shared,
I just found it so particularly odd.

To be a really strong Christian,
In the Bible we must all immerse,
Yet that preacher never did this,
No, he spoke not a single verse.
