FINAL CHIME

by Bill Kochman

10-05-2023

You will never know the great joy,
That comes with serving the Lord,
Oh such satisfaction that it brings,
And someday a heavenly reward.

No friend, you won’t ever know it,
While you labor for material gain,
And cast aside God’s holy Book,
In the end your life will be in vain.

A selfish existence lived for you,
With no thot for what lies ahead,
It is time that you finally wake up,
For tomorrow you could be dead.

Sadly, you just keep putting it off,
Convinced you’ve got lots of time,
But this earthly life is like a vapor,
When will come your final chime?
