FINAL HOUR

Now there exists an old saying,
A man convinced against his will,
Although you tell him the facts,
Will keep his same opinion still.

Yes, while you share evidence,
And despite his being so wrong,
He will simply ignore your words,
And keep singing that old song.

So many folks are just like this,
Stubbornly clinging to a belief,
Tho you speak the truth to them,
They will not accept your relief.

Preferring to believe in some lie,
They’ll fight you to the very end,
It is honestly just a losing battle,
So why should we even pretend?

But the greatest tragedy of it all,
Is when faith comes to the fore,
Jesus is knocking at their heart,
But they refuse to open the door.

Oh, indeed what a sad situation,
If stubbornness gains its power,
And such a person remains lost,
Until their life’s very final hour.
