FOOLISH PRIDE

by Bill Kochman

04-07-2014

In his foolish pride, man thinks he is so great,
But compared to God, he is really second rate.
Puffed up in our ego, we posture and we boast,
Satan tried that too, and now he is just toast.

A false image of ourselves, we like to present,
If someone steals our limelight, them we resent.
Such silly behavior, befits not a child of God,
Better to be humble, although they think us odd.

Dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return,
In the Book of Job, God even calls man a worm.
Beware of your heart, it will lead you astray,
There’s a Lake of Fire, for some on Judgment Day.
