GLADIATORS

Let’s go down to the coliseum,
Our fighters are on the field,
Breaking bones, spilling blood,
If the other guy just won’t yield.

Training hard for many months,
Just wanting to please the fans,
Planning strategies for victory,
Pig skin passes hands to hands.

Oh yes it’s now Super Bowl time,
The testosterone just fills the air,
Macho boys really psyched up,
An ambulance is likewise there.

Pretty girls who are barely clad,
So excite the monstrous crowd,
A play is made, a roar is heard,
Man, those folks can be so loud.

But as for me, I will tell you now,
Yes, I’ll make a small confession,
I am really not into all that stuff,
No, I just do not like aggression.

The spirit of sports is so like war,
Taking down guys in order to win,
There’s so much pride & arrogance,
Some would even say that it’s a sin.
