MY MUMMY
by Bill Kochman

Oh how I just love my dear mummy,
She’s really such a tight-wound girl,
I know that she kind of smells a lot,
But I would not trade her for a pearl.
My mummy is really the quiet type,
She rarely ever makes any sound,
Although she doesn’t communicate,
I still really enjoy having her around.
My friends think I am a little strange,
They do not come around anymore,
I’m wondering if maybe it’s because,
My mummy stands by the front door.
My dear mummy has quite a history,
I think it is four millennia maybe five,
Her ancestors were already kicking,
When old man Moses was still alive.
Mummy’s clothing is rather tattered,
I’d buy something new at the store,
But I’m afraid that if I remove them,
Mummy would fall all over the floor.
And so this is life with my mummy,
I hope that you’ve enjoyed my tale,
If ever you’re feeling kind of lonely,
I suggest you get a mummy as well.
