NEVER ALONE

Oh you sweet dear foolish child,
Did you think He does not care?
As you were feeling terribly lost,
Did you think He was not there?

As problems tumbled about you,
And quickly closed in the night,
Though you were encompassed,
Yet still you possessed His light.

But sometimes God draws away,
To a distance and yet not too far,
Even though you can’t sense Him,
He knows exactly where you are.

Now this feeling is not so foreign,
Even Jesus must’ve felt the same,
As He hung on that Roman cross,
For all of our sins He took blame.

God, why have you forsaken me?
Those nearby heard Him cry out,
Even tho God was still with Him,
Of this there should be no doubt.

So even though you may wonder,
And to doubts you may be prone,
Just always remember dear one,
God never truly leaves you alone.
