THE ONLINE THING

by Bill Kochman

11-01-2024

There is so much online banter,
No matter which way you swing,
Some people share the Gospel,
Others are into the politics thing.

Music vids occupy a high place,
Astronomy pics are also one fav,
If you post something really cool,
All your friends will no doubt rave.

Silly jokes are likewise common,
Some will surely make you laugh,
Yet others won’t make the mark,
You’ll think that person’s so daft.

Pets and animals are so popular,
Some folks prefer food and drink,
Whatever your particular interest,
You’re free to say what you think.

Indeed there are so many voices,
I mean like you have never heard,
Some posts are rather sensible,
While others seem totally absurd.

Just a hodgepodge of opinions,
With some of them you will agree,
If not you can simply scroll on by,
That’s the right of speech liberty.

PRODIGAL

by Bill Kochman

11-01-2024

You are wrapped up in the world,
You do not see that you are blind,
God offered you a special calling,
But you have left His Will behind.

Just like that guy named Demas,
You swallowed old Satan’s lure,
So many blessings were for you,
Yet now you are spiritually poor.

Just surviving on the dry husks,
Like a prodigal who lost his way,
Thinking where you went wrong,
Did you really take time to pray?

Yet Father remains so merciful,
He can restore if you so desire,
If you have learned your lesson,
Having now passed thru the fire.

HARD AS FLINT

by Bill Kochman

11-01-2024

You must preach the full truth,
No matter what some folks say,
Or you will be held accountable.
On God’s great Judgment Day.

Do not be afraid of their faces,
Even if they make them stern,
For truly unless they all repent,
It is certain that they will burn.

Like Ezekiel, deliver your soul,
As Isaiah with a face like flint,
Whether they continue to sin,
Or if they all choose to repent.

Your job is to deliver warning,
How they react is God’s affair,
You’ll have the peace knowing,
All their sins you will not bear.

For God will so find you faithful,
If the truth you don’t hold back,
So remain true to your calling,
No matter how hard they attack.

DIVIDE AND CONQUER

by Bill Kochman

11-01-2024

Divide and conquer, has always been the Devil’s ruse,
Some folks don’t get it, they seem to miss all the clues.
A nation so divided, the red hats against all the blues,
We’re all the victims, no matter which side we choose.

Yet you choose to argue, and promote your own views,
But without strong unity, we’re all certainly sure to lose.
The politicians don’t help, they purposely light the fuse,
Violence breaks out, we watch it on the evening news.

Our leaders don’t represent us, their powers they abuse,
So we have to wonder, from whom they take their cues.
Now unless we all wake up, we will surely pay our dues,
As bodies begin to pile up, we’ll be praying in our pews.

UNDER THE EARTH — KJV (King James Version) Bible Verse List

#Scriptures #BibleStudy #BibleVerses #UnderTheEarth #BeneathTheEarth

“Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and THINGS UNDER THE EARTH; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
Philippians 2:9-11, KJV

“And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither UNDER THE EARTH, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon. And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon . . . And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and UNDER THE EARTH, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.”

MY MUMMY

by Bill Kochman

10-30-2024

Oh how I just love my dear mummy,
She’s really such a tight-wound girl,
I know that she kind of smells a lot,
But I would not trade her for a pearl.

My mummy is really the quiet type,
She rarely ever makes any sound,
Although she doesn’t communicate,
I still really enjoy having her around.

My friends think I am a little strange,
They do not come around anymore,
I’m wondering if maybe it’s because,
My mummy stands by the front door.

My dear mummy has quite a history,
I think it is four millennia maybe five,
Her ancestors were already kicking,
When old man Moses was still alive.

Mummy’s clothing is rather tattered,
I’d buy something new at the store,
But I’m afraid that if I remove them,
Mummy would fall all over the floor.

And so this is life with my mummy,
I hope that you’ve enjoyed my tale,
If ever you’re feeling kind of lonely,
I suggest you get a mummy as well.

IF HE DOESN’T COME — a poem and song by Bill Kochman

IF HE DOESN’T COME

by Bill Kochman

10-29-2024

So what are you going to do,
If Jesus does not even come,
Will you to all those doubts,
Then just quickly succumb?

And what if what you believe,
Turns out to be a deception,
Will you simply re-evaluate,
Formulate a new perception?

Now you may think I’m crazy,
A heretic or possibly worse,
However what if in actuality,
You misunderstood a verse?

Realizing we’ve been in error,
Is not easy for some to admit,
But it is better to be humble,
Than simply give up and quit.

Tho you think it not important,
It’s an idea you must consider,
For if my thoughts are correct,
I do not want you to be bitter.

Thus I urge you to be careful,
About everything you believe,
So many wolves are out there,
And they’re waiting to deceive.

BREAD AND CIRCUSES

by Bill Kochman

10-29-2024

Bread and circuses, bread and circuses,
It is really such a nonsensical way to go,
Strutting out their celebs onto their stage,
It is really meaningless you should know.

Trying so hard to impress the audiences,
With the biggest & most famous names,
If you are smart you will just ignore it all,
Don’t be taken in by the political games.

What really matters are the major issues,
Not what a Hollywood celeb wants to say,
So let’s talk about what’s really going on,
As for those celebs, just please go away!

PRISCILLA AND AQUILA — KJV (King James Version) Bible Verse List

#Scriptures #BibleStudy #BibleVerses #PriscillaAndAquila #AquilaAndPriscilla #Aquila #Priscilla

“After these things Paul departed from Athens, and came to Corinth; And found a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, lately come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla; (because that Claudius had commanded all Jews to depart from Rome:) and came unto them. And because he was of the same craft, he abode with them, and wrought: for by their occupation they were tentmakers . . . And Paul after this tarried there yet a good while, and then took his leave of the brethren, and sailed thence into Syria, and with him Priscilla and Aquila; having shorn his head in Cenchrea: for he had a vow . . . And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus. This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John. And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.”
Acts 18:1-3, 18, 24-26, KJV

“Greet Priscilla and Aquila my helpers in Christ Jesus: Who have for my life laid down their own necks: unto whom not only I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles.”
Romans 16:3-4, KJV

“The churches of Asia salute you. Aquila and Priscilla salute you much in the Lord, with the church that is in their house.”
1 Corinthians 16:19, KJV

“Salute Prisca and Aquila, and the household of Onesiphorus.”
2 Timothy 4:19, KJV

CHERRY PICKER — a poem and song by Bill Kochman

#Poetry #Poem

CHERRY PICKER

by Bill Kochman

10-27-2024

She was a Bible cherry picker,
Choosing verses that she liked,
While as for quite a few others,
She told them to go take a hike.

Like so many modern Believers,
She was one to pick & choose,
It is such a dangerous practice,
God’s Word we shouldn’t abuse.

And yet a lot of Christians today,
Foolishly behave just the same,
As if the Bible is some cafeteria,
Or a free-for-all Scrabble game.

If a verse supports their beliefs,
Well then that verse is still okay,
But if a verse contradicts them,
It is simply time to take it away.

And thus they force God’s Word,
To conform to their own thought,
Beware of the people who do it,
Do not be deceived by their rot.

Embrace your Bible completely,
Refrain from any verse cleaning,
Compare one verse to another,
To arrive at the proper meaning.

If you follow my advice closely,
The Lord will be pleased indeed,
And as for your understanding,
It will increase with all you read.

AMBASSADORS

by Bill Kochman

10-26-2024

Well, I am no kind of prophet,
And certainly I am not a king,
I don’t have loads of money,
But of this I will gladly sing.

Even though I am not worthy,
In fact, I am quite the mess,
God led me into His Kingdom,
Thus the Son I must confess.

Many people are just like me,
We are not special not at all,
Yet God reached down to us,
We heard His heavenly call.

Out from this world we came,
With a holy mission to fulfill,
Striving to please Him daily,
As we go about doing His will.

God’s ambassadors we are,
His Kingdom we represent,
We tell folks about the story,
Of a dear Savior that He sent.

Some do not understand us,
They say that we are not well,
If they were to have their way,
We would be locked in a cell.

Tho the world may not like us,
Yet the truth we try to preach,
Sharing the Gospel with them,
Hoping at least a few we reach.

Someday our task will be over,
And we will each take our rest,
God will reward us accordingly,
If we have done our very best.

PREACHER WOMEN

by Bill Kochman

10-26-2024

Stubborn preacher women drive me nuts,
Someone needs to kick ‘em in their butts.
Usurping authority which God didn’t give,
Go back to the Bible and learn how to live.

Apostle Paul said women shouldn’t teach,
So what you are doing is really overreach.
Teaching the Gospel is just the job of men,
The Bible makes it clear go read it again.

Your task is to care for girls and the young,
But as for preaching just hold your tongue.
In the Bible the leaders were usually guys,
You should stop listening to the Devil’s lies.

Yes, deacons & apostles, prophets & kings,
The truth of God’s order quite clearly rings.
So why do you defy what has been written?
By the Devil’s pride have you been smitten?

You can get offended & claim I am not right,
But I stand on God’s Word don’t pick a fight.
Study the Bible and learn your proper place,
Because what you are doing is a disgrace.

GREAT TRIBULATION AND TRIBULATIONS — KJV (King James Version) Bible Verse List

#Scriptures #BibleStudy #BibleVerses #GreatTribulation #Tribulation

“For then shall be GREAT TRIBULATION, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elects sake those days shall be shortened . . . Immediately after the TRIBULATION of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.”
Matthew 24:21-22, 29-30, KJV

“For‭ ‭in‭ those‭ days‭ shall be‭‭ AFFLICTION‭, such‭ as‭ was‭‭ not‭ from‭ the beginning‭ of the creation‭ which‭ God‭ created‭‭ unto‭ this time‭, neither‭‭ shall be‭‭ . . . But in those days, AFTER THAT TRIBULATION, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.”
Mark 13:19, 24-26, KJV

“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have TRIBULATION: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
John 16:33, KJV

“Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through MUCH TRIBULATION enter into the kingdom of God.”
Acts 14:22, KJV

“But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; Who will render to every man according to his deeds: To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life: But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, INDIGNATION AND WRATH, TRIBULATION AND ANGUISH, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;”
Romans 2:5-9, KJV

“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall TRIBULATION, OR DISTRESS, OR PERSECUTION, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.”
Romans 8:35-37, KJV

“Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; Rejoicing in hope; PATIENT IN TRIBULATION; continuing instant in prayer;”
Romans 12:10-12, KJV

“Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us IN ALL OUR TRIBULATION, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ. And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation. And our hope of you is stedfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation. For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life: But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead: Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us;”
2 Corinthians 1:3-10, KJV

“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.”
Romans 5:1-5, KJV

“I speak not this to condemn you: for I have said before, that ye are in our hearts to die and live with you. Great is my boldness of speech toward you, great is my glorying of you: I am filled with comfort, I am exceeding joyful IN ALL OUR TRIBULATION.”
2 Corinthians 7:3-4, KJV

“For verily, when we were with you, we told you before that WE SHOULD SUFFER TRIBULATION; EVEN AS IT CAME TO PASS, and ye know. For this cause, when I could no longer forbear, I sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter have tempted you, and our labour be in vain.”
1 Thessalonians 3:4-5, KJV

“We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth; So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith IN ALL YOUR PERSECUTIONS AND TRIBULATIONS THAT YE ENDURE: Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, FOR WHICH YE ALSO SUFFER: Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to THEM THAT TROUBLE YOU; And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.”
2 Thessalonians 1:3-10, KJV

“I John, who also am your brother, and COMPANION IN TRIBULATION, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.”
Revelation 1:9, KJV

“And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive; I know thy works, and TRIBULATION, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan. Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and YE SHALL HAVE TRIBULATION TEN DAYS: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.”
Revelation 2:8-10, KJV

“Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her INTO GREAT TRIBULATION, except they repent of their deeds. And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.”
Revelation 2:20-23, KJV

“And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of GREAT TRIBULATION, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.”

PURGED BY FIRE — KJV (King James Version) Bible Verse List

#Scriptures #BibleStudy #BibleVerses #PurgedByFire #Purged #Purge #Fire #Purified #Purify

“Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.”
1 Corinthians 3:12-15, KJV

“That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:”
1 Peter 1:7, KJV

“I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.”

VOTING IN AMERICA

by Bill Kochman

10-17-2024

The more they can do undercover,
The more they can likewise cheat,
Thus they’re all for mail-in ballots,
As their opponent they try to beat.

And then there are those illegals,
To them voting is not even a right,
I suspect we’ll have hanky-panky,
If the race is just looking too tight.

And what about those dead folks?
Man, they are such a patriotic lot,
They all still try to vote anyways,
Tho they are dead they just forgot.

We have also got double-dippers,
From another state or other town,
They cheat & vote multiple times,
So their candidate wins the crown.

Now as for the voting drop boxes,
Paint in big letters “CHEAT HERE”,
Thus I ask should we be surprised,
When we see who’s prez next year?

They keep saying it is too big to rig,
But they have such a devious plan,
So I just honestly have to wonder,
If it will be won by the rightful man.

10-16-2024

It is another cat fight, cat fight!
They won’t let me sleep tonight!
There’s two toms making noise,
Now settle down both you boys!

I hear growls and lots of spitting,
They just don’t intend on quitting.
There must be one queen nearby,
Guess she caught both their eye.

So now they’re both out for blood,
Oh dearie me! I just heard a thud!
My night is ruined & sleep is gone,
They could be at it until the dawn!

You just had to choose my hood,
Please move along if you would.
All this noise just needs to cease,
Come on cats, give me my peace!

CASHIER HAG

by Bill Kochman

10-15-2024

So I went to the grocery store,
And ran into this cashier hag,
Man, that gal just gave me lip,
When I asked for a plastic bag.

Then during the next minutes,
While my groceries she rings,
I glanced down into that cart,
At each of my shopping things.

My toothpaste in a plastic tube,
And my bread in a bag as well,
If it were not for all that plastic,
Some things they couldn’t sell.

Ketchup was in a plastic bottle,
Containers of honey plastic too,
Laundry soap in its plastic jug,
Without plastic we’d be through.

Yes, garbage bags were plastic,
My chicken was in a plastic tray,
Batteries sealed in plastic also,
Oh gosh, what more can I say?

Cat toys were made of plastic,
A carton of eggs in styrofoam,
Man, you know I was steaming,
As I carried all that stuff home.

But adding more insult to injury,
It makes understanding so hard,
When after she totals my items,
I have to pay with a plastic card!

FAITHFUL PROVIDER

by Bill Kochman

10-15-2024

Well, I have been young and now I have grown old,
Yet the righteous isn’t forsaken or begging bread,
God has been quite faithful, He has kept His Word,
Indeed, every verse of Scripture I have ever read.

Now Jesus said that if we seek first the Kingdom,
We would be assured of never suffering any lack,
Well, I can vouch that what the Lord stated is true,
Because I am sure God has always had my back.

I am certainly not rich, I don’t have my own house,
Man, I cannot even afford to buy myself a new car,
But that’s quite okay because I’m comfy as can be,
And someday I will shine like the brightest star.

WATCH YOUR WORDS

by Bill Kochman

10-15-2024

In the multitude of words,
There wanteth not a sin,
So we should be careful,
From the minute we begin.

But if we refrain our lips,
Indeed we are very wise,
There is a lesser chance,
We’ll spew forth just lies.

Indeed, be swift to hear,
And very slow to speak,
It is then easier to find,
An answer that we seek.

Rashness in our mouth,
Can create quite a stew,
So once again I advise,
That your words be few.

To answer before we hear,
Leads to folly and shame,
Thus if we’re not careful,
We could take the blame.

Yea, to utter all our mind,
Just turns us into a fool,
So the key lesson here is,
Learn to keep your cool.

For if the truth we speak,
We’ll indeed be justified,
But we’ll be condemned,
If by chance we have lied.

NO SHOW

by Bill Kochman

10-14-2024

Brethren, you really need to wake up,
From that deception you’re all under,
Tell me, what does God need to do,
Make His voice like a loud thunder?

Although you may not even realize it,
You are all most definitely deceived,
I understand where your head is at,
Because at one time I also believed.

But you see, time and serious study,
Have finally opened both of my eyes,
As I delved deeply into the Holy Bible,
It simply erased all of Futurism’s lies.

For years I embraced that false hope,
That Jesus would be returning soon,
But after waiting for over 4 decades,
I realized that it’s a really bogus tune.

The real truth is that for 200+ years,
Many preachers have been so wrong.
But because of their popular status,
All of their followers have gone along.

Believing that the Bible promotes it,
They never examined it for themself,
So many do not read the Scriptures,
That book just sits dusty on the shelf.

Thus why should we be so surprised,
That so many people look to the sky,
But when their expectations all fail,
They’ll all then begin to wonder why.

Perhaps then they will finally listen,
To the message that we try to share,
Jesus kept His first century promise,
When He descended from the air.
