Two-part article which discusses the importance of building our lives — or house — on the right foundation of Jesus Christ, so that we will one day inherit our true mansion in the Heavenly City of New Jerusalem.

“For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus:” Romans 15:4-5, KJV

“And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end: That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself, Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee. And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.” Hebrews 6:11-15, KJV

For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry. Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 10:35-11:1, KJV

“Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh. Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door. Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience. Behold, we count them happy which endure. Political entities are notorious for keeping a precise record of everything their opponents have stated over the years. Then, when election season rolls around, out come the big guns, and accusations of hypocrisy, double-standards, etc., begin to fly, sometimes to the serious detriment of one opponent or another.
However, we all need to remember that we are all constantly learning and growing, and not everything is written in stone; particularly our thoughts, opinions and positions. They often change over time as we acquire new information, mature and grow.
This equally applies to politicians. They too are perfectly within their right to change course if need be. It really isn’t deception unless they are saying and promoting one thing in public, while actually believing something entirely different in private.
So, please slow down, and give people a break. Wouldn’t you want them to do the same for you if you changed your mind about something?
If you’re going to preach the Gospel,
It is important to have a soft heart,
If your attitude is one of superiority,
Friend, you are off to a terrible start.
If your intention is only to condemn,
And isn’t tempered with God’s love,
How can you honestly even believe,
That you are inspired from above?
We need to preach the full message,
God truly requires this of us indeed,
But it takes both patience & wisdom,
As we go planting the Gospel seed.
Now if you try following this formula,
It should yield a much better result,
But if you choose to be cold & harsh,
Only poor fruit will be your own fault.
Thus before you go out witnessing,
Take some time to pray to the Lord,
Ask Him to put you in the right spirit,
So His grace & love on you is poured.

Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world . . . Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:” Matthew 25:31-34, 41, KJV

“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.” 2 Corinthians 5:10, KJV
“Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you: Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead . . . For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?” 1 Peter 4:4-5, 17, KJV
“And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.” Revelation 20:11-13, KJV
