If we fail to do the above, then we have no one but ourselves to blame when we fall prey to the false “wannabe prophets”, false brethren and other deceivers in the world who are just waiting to gobble us up with their false prophecies, false doctrines and other nonsense. What I find particularly interesting about all of this, is that the Scriptures clearly inform us that God Himself will purposely send strong delusion and lying spirits in order to deceive people, if that is truly what they want. In short, if we continually rebel against Him, and reject the truth of His Word, then He will basically say, “Okay, if you want to be deceived, well, then here you go.” If you doubt that this is so, consider the following verses:
“I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not.”

“. . . because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:”
