But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?” Matthew 3:7, KJV
“O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.” Matthew 12:34, KJV
“Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?” Matthew 23:33, KJV
“Then said he to the multitude that came forth to be baptized of him, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?” Luke 3:7, KJV
Old people, they say, are from another time,
They’re useless has-beens, not worth a dime.
Merely a drain on Earth’s limited resources,
Like racetrack animals, retired old horses.
Just push them aside, make room for the rest,
Pretend they’re not there, hope for the best.
But foolish are those who think in this way,
For their elders have many wise things to say.
A life full of lessons learned from the Lord,
We’d be better off taking heed to their word.
Special treasures in our very midst are they,
For His reasons, God has allowed them to stay.
