GRANDCHILDREN

You think that your life is over,
You’ve raised a family of your own,
Your children are now all married,
And at last you find yourself alone.
Peace and quiet are your companions,
You wonder what lies in years ahead,
Will disease or dementia strike you?
Will you wish that you were dead?
But then a wonderful event happens,
It totally catches you by surprise,
The love you feel is overwhelming,
As you gaze into grandchild’s eyes.

GRACE VS. WORKS

So you are stuck on works,
You hope they save you someday,
You think they give you perks,
But it doesn’t work that way.
Our Salvation is by Grace,
There is nothing we can do,
Because Jesus took our place,
His Father accepts us too.
Thus our works cannot save us,
Else Jesus just died in vain,
But yet His Father forgave us,
Which makes the truth so plain.

GRACE RACE II

I once knew a man who ran the race,
But he fell flat right on his face.
In the flesh he had tried so hard,
But he couldn’t make the final yard.
With good works he sought 1st place,
But he ran out of steam in disgrace.
For it’s only by faith and God’s Grace,
That the course we’ll be able to ace.
Attempting to win in our own strength,
Only leads to disappointment at length.
So trust in God and His great power,
He’ll see you through to the final hour.

GRACE RACE

In the flesh he ran the race,
Thus he fell on his face.
In his goodness he did trust,
‘Twas in vain and only dust.
Without Spirit doomed to fail,
His meager works led to Hell.
Looking up wondering why,
The Lamb of God had to die.
He just did not understand,
We are saved by God’s Hand.
His Grace alone is the key,
To live a life in Eternity.

GOTHIC SUPER PUNK

You put pins and chains in your face,
Horns and holes all over the place,
Skin sewed up with a piece of lace,
Rings in odd places, what a disgrace.
Your skin’s so pale just like a ghoul,
Eyes painted dark, you call it cool,
But can’t you see you’re just a tool,
And Satan’s playing you for a fool?
If you’re truly God’s child of light,
Don’t act like you belong to the nite,
Forsake your way that causes fright,
Resist that demon with all your might.

GOOD NEWS

I picked up the morning paper,
Just to see what it had to say,
Every story was very negative,
Not a single nice thing today.
Well, as I kept on reading it,
Much more depressed I became,
I bet that most other people,
Were also feeling just the same.
God’s Word is so very different,
It inspires joy & gives us hope,
So as we live in this sad world,
We will be better able to cope.

GOOD LEADER

We need a leader with the right credential,
A person who is above promoting party line,
Treating everyone fairly is very essential,
And to special interests he must not align.
Concerning the welfare of the whole nation,
He must do what is balanced and what is best,
With people he must have a strong relation,
And pass with flying colors integrity test.
Honesty and good judgment will be apparent,
As he leads the country in the days ahead,
By doing such he won’t be a leader errant,
In history books good things will be said.

GONE FISHING?

What if I said I was done,
And I won’t preach anymore,
Would that make you happy?
Would you even laugh galore?
Well erase that foolish thought,
From your ungodly wicked mind,
As much as you would like it,
I’m just not the quitting kind.
It’s just not my own decision,
God wound up my preaching key,
And because He loves you so much,
He will not just let you be.

GOD’S WORD IS KING

I am not any kind of diplomat,
Political correctness is not my thing,
So when I speak, I can be quite blunt,
Because God’s Word is king.
I don’t mean to offend anyone,
And I am not really trying to sting,
But if you’re near, better take cover,
Because God’s Word is king.
I know that I say a lot of stuff,
That often has a rather familiar ring,
It’s because I get it from the Bible,
And well, God’s Word is king.

GOD’S WILL

Just like a giant snowball,
Rolling down a steep hill,
Time just marches forward,
And God fulfills His Will.
Nothing we do can stop it,
His plan is etched in stone,
If we resist His Word,
We’ll find we stand alone.
Tis better to flow with it,
Held up by His divine hand,
If we choose to surrender,
We’ll walk in Eternal Land.

GOD’S ROPE

When the Devil’s got you down,
And you feel like you can’t cope,
When everything’s going wrong,
And there seems to be no hope,
When that snake accuses you,
And calls you a first class dope,
When God answers with a “Yes”,
And Satan replies with “Nope”,
Don’t just sit around crying,
Or pity yourself and mope,
Bounce right back into the fight,
And hang him with God’s rope.

GOD’S RIGHTEOUS LAWS

The laws of men are written,
Not to benefit everyone,
More slanted towards elite,
Who get to have all the fun.
But as for the rest of us,
To different laws we are held,
If we dare break one of them,
No surprise if we are jailed.
But God’s Laws are righteous,
An equal standard for us all,
We can be justified thru Jesus,
Thus wrote the Apostle Paul.

GOD’S PROTECTION

If we want God’s protection,
We must stay within His Will,
He does His part if we do ours,
We won’t get a better deal.
But if we become rebellious,
Then God may back off a bit,
He may even let us suffer,
So we learn our lesson from it.
God’s blessings are conditional,
They’re null if we don’t obey,
Thus do your best to please Him,
And He’ll protect you everyday.

GOD’S MIGHTY ANGELS

God has His mighty Angels,
Tho invisible they may be,
They fight battles for us,
Help give us the victory.
Some serve as messengers,
When there’s a great need,
We would all be very wise,
To their counsel take heed.
Yet others perform miracles,
Like one who stirred a pool,
Man stepped in & was healed,
And that was so very cool.

GOD’S MERCY

I am really not such a great man,
No Prophet with a powerful voice,
If I am a light to my brethren,
It is clearly by God’s own choice.
Surely I was not ever worthy,
To be called into the Lord’s fold,
My sins and failures are so many,
I’d be shamed if they’re ever told.
But that’s the beauty of God’s Mercy,
He takes each one as dirty as we are,
And washes us in the Blood of His Son,
So we shine like the brightest star.

GOD’S LOVE

God’s Love is like no other love,
Not of this Earth, it comes from above.
It suffers long, it is always kind,
Unlike people, to our faults it’s blind.
It is never boastful, it’s never proud,
It’s always so gentle, it’s never loud.
It isn’t selfish, and seeks not its own,
It never envies, or has a harsh tone.
It bears all things, it gives us hope,
It smooths out problems, so we can cope.
It never fails, of this you can be sure,
God’s great Love, will always endure.

GOD’S LITTLE NOBODY

I’m really just a little nobody,
Unknown to most, yes that is me,
I don’t have outstanding looks,
Or an impressive family tree.
I am simply just a regular guy,
There’s nothing special to see,
You’d easily pass me in a crowd,
And that is just fine, frankly.
Though I be plain, God had plans,
To make me into what I should be,
He shaped me in His great hands,
So to Him I give the glory.

GOD’S LAWS SUPREME

God’s Word instructs us all,
To obey the laws of the land,
But what should Christians do,
When things get so out of hand?
Abortion and same-sex marriage,
Are obviously just not right,
Therefore, God’s Laws prevail,
So we need to put up a fight.
Stand your ground, but be nice,
Only a peaceful demonstration,
Avoid violence to make a point,
Is my personal recommendation.

GOD’S GREAT TABLE

Some like milk, while others like meat,
Bless my soul, God’s Word can’t be beat.
If you are dirty, it will clean you up,
If you are thirsty, it will fill your cup.
If you are down, it will cheer your soul,
If you are sick, it will make you whole.
If you are lonely, it will heal your heart,
It will save you too, if you do your part.
Yes, God’s amazing Word is just that great,
So serve some soon on your spiritual plate.
He invites you if you’re willing and able,
To sit down and feast at His great table.

GOD’S GREAT BUBBLE

We are in God’s great bubble,
That keeps us out of trouble,
No chance we turn to stubble,
He pays back our foes double.
But should we reject His Spirit,
And just don’t want to hear it,
Refusing to even draw near it,
Or foolishly choose to fear it,
This would not be very wise,
For Satan will come with lies,
Yes, wearing his sly disguise,
And thoroughly blind our eyes.
So then if we are really smart,
From the Lord we won’t depart,
We will trust Him from the start,
Serving Him with all our heart.
