GET BACK UP AND FIGHT!

by Bill Kochman

07-25-2014

Sure, you can sit there,
And feel sorry for yourself,
Like a useless vase,
Sitting on God’s dusty shelf.

No one will hurt you,
You will never be marred,
No one will break you,
You will never be scarred.

But think out your plan,
Your strategy is not right,
Aren’t you God’s soldier?
So then get back up and fight.

GENESIS DECREE

by Bill Kochman

01-07-2017

Just one woman, plus one man,
So God made His marriage plan,
No more twain, but one to be,
In Genesis He made His decree.

In the Gospels, Jesus agreed,
Thus it’s Heaven’s holy creed.
Not two ladies and not two men,
No changing His Law with a pen.

Hetero marriage for procreation,
Anything else is an abomination.
Love your man and love your wife,
May you be happy your whole life.

GENDER BENDER II

by Bill Kochman

04-05-2019

Beware of the gender benders,
They are just out to confuse,
They claim God made a mistake,
But it is just a devilish ruse.

In our schools and in the home,
Some parents blindly go along,
Kids encouraged to cross-dress,
Can’t they see that it’s wrong?

Boys prancing around in drag,
It is such an unnatural sight,
Women shaving hair like men,
This behavior just isn’t right.

God designed us before birth,
Differences made at the start,
So don’t mess with kids’ lives,
Nor wickedness to them impart.

For so many generations past,
A boy was always just a boy,
Girls too were always girls,
Now with God’s Word they toy.

An evil spirit of perversity,
Has taken hold of this land,
Such nonsense I simply reject,
Behind God’s Word I’ll stand.

God’s Laws supersede our own,
So do not change birth gender,
If you reject His holy ways,
He’ll view you as an offender.

God’s patience will grow thin,
It’s happened before to Sodom,
So I urge you to please repent,
Or you’ll land in Hell’s bottom.

GENDER BENDER

by Bill Kochman

05-19-2018

Friend, please forgive my intrusion,
But I am worried about your delusion.
I find it odd your pronoun infusion,
Such as that “non-binary” inclusion.

We hear this talk of gender confusion,
But surely it is just devilish collusion.
Don’t leave male/female in seclusion,
They’re what we’ve always been usin’.

Calling you “they” is such an illusion,
So forget all of this he/she exclusion.
Or I will just come to one conclusion,
Did you suffer some brain contusion?

G.R.A.C.E.

by Bill Kochman

12-24-2016

When we were without hope and lost,
Jesus bestowed us a precious gift,
He chose to go the way of the Cross,
Where sinful men Him they did uplift.

A gift received at Christ’s expense,
Though sinners we be without merit,
Yet because Jesus died for us all,
Eternal life we can freely inherit.

And thus because of His great love,
Our Heavenly Father we can now face,
Sins forgiven and no more remembered,
Someday we’ll walk in Heavenly Place.

FRONTLINE SOLDIERS

by Bill Kochman

11-10-2014

Speaking truth comes at a price,
But we dare not deny His Name,
For if we just cower in fear,
We’ll also surely take the blame.

God desires frontline soldiers,
Brave in the power of His might,
Unafraid to expose deception,
Making the enemy to take flight.

Wielding the Sword of the Spirit,
Casting down lies great and small,
Spreading the light of dear Jesus,
Until God is truly all in all.

FROM SAUL TO PAUL

by Bill Kochman

11-29-2017

Once there was a Jew named Saul,
A very self-righteous Pharisee,
He persecuted God’s early Church,
With great rage and jealousy.

He was so blinded by the Old Law,
That he was simply unable to see,
God’s new plan thru Jesus Christ,
Which would set the captives free.

Then it occurred one fateful day,
As to Damascus he did take a ride,
God decided that it was now time,
To deal with his rebellious pride.

Surrounded by Heaven’s great light,
That man to the ground did so fall,
Jesus said Why persecutest thou me?
Though the others saw nothing at all.

Three days blind and no food or drink,
God gave Saul some time to repent,
Then a miracle of healing occurred,
When to Saul, Ananias was then sent.

From his eyes fell as it were scales,
And baptism is what took place next,
Now to learn the rest of Paul’s story,
Please just read the Biblical text.

FROM ROCK TO THE ROCK

by Bill Kochman

10-05-2019

I used to be one of those headbangers,
Although I never really banged my head,
I was into some early great rock bands,
Many are now very old or already dead.

The Who, Chicago, Led Zepplin, Santana,
Moody Blues, Creedence, Alan Parsons too,
The Doors and Emerson Lake and Palmer,
Wow, Pink Floyd was so spacey it’s true.

Crosby Stills Nash and Young plus Toto,
Phil Collins, Abba, Lobo, Iron Butterfly,
Electric Light Orchestra, Eagles, Kansas,
Some of those old songs really made me fly.

There was Susie Q and In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida,
Plus Riders on the Storm and Old and Wise,
Nights in White Satin and Eye in the Sky,
Man, I just really loved all of those guys.

But you see, those days are now behind me,
As Paul wrote, I am no longer that child,
For long ago God’s Spirit took hold of me,
And I have ceased to be so young and wild.

For many years now I have had a mission,
A message of hope better than any old song,
The Lord invites you to His Home in Heaven,
My prayer is that you will also come along.

FRIEND TO FRIEND

by Bill Kochman

11-26-2016

I try to reach out to you,
As a friend to a friend,
Tho miles may separate us,
It’s the Spirit in the end.

I speak your own language,
What you feel in your heart,
For I feel the same things,
Tho we are very far apart.

We are all one great family,
Blood of Christ is the tie,
His Spirit bonds us together,
For us the Lord chose to die.

FRIEND OF JESUS

by Bill Kochman

12-14-2016

If you want to be Jesus’ friend,
It’s really a simple thing to do,
Just accept Him into your heart,
Then do all that He asks of you.

There’s truly no better a friend,
Than He who gave His life in love,
Now we’re required to do the same,
By sharing that Light from above.

Such are all the true friendships,
There must be some give and take,
But if we give our lives to Jesus,
We’ll be rewarded, make no mistake.

FREEDOM

by Bill Kochman

12-14-2016

The Judge pronounced the sentence,
And into a dark prison we were cast,
But God also had a liberation plan,
Thus our punishment would not last.

Then there appeared a great light,
And alas, we were suddenly unbound,
The reason for such a great miracle,
A Lamb on a Cross who made no sound.

Yes, Jesus opened the door to prison,
He let His great love light shine in,
Condemnation and sin were conquered,
A brand new life we’re free to begin.

FREE TO BE ME

by Bill Kochman

07-26-2014

I am free to be me,
I am not very P.C.,
I believe what I want,
And I say what I see.

No mold can hold me,
I just be what I be,
The Lord is my potter,
Be thou thus said He.

No one else shapes me,
To Him I bend knee,
For He is my King,
For all eternity.

FREE THROUGH JESUS

by Bill Kochman

12-06-2016

So being free through Jesus,
What does it actually mean?
Several things, I would say,
As will easily now be seen.

Free from harsh Mosaic Law,
For Jesus now saves us alone,
Free from the penalty of sin,
For our sins Jesus did atone.

Free from the sting of death,
Our sins have a hold no more,
Jesus conquered on the Cross,
And opened Eternal Life’s door.

FREE THINKIN’ SINNER MAN

by Bill Kochman

09-14-2014

I’m a free thinkin’ sinner man,
I love doin’ things my own way,
Forget what holy folks preach,
I don’t care what they all say.

I just live for the good times,
Smokin’ drinkin’ rock ‘n’ roll,
So just forget all that nonsense,
You keep preachin’ ’bout my soul.

Wait! Now what is goin’ on here?
It’s really gettin’ oh so very hot,
Come on, you know I was jokin’,
Please take me out of this spot.

FORWARD MARCH!

by Bill Kochman

12-26-2018

Yet another year has passed by,
We did our best for God we hope,
We had victories and trials too,
But by God’s Grace we did cope.

His Word was shared far and wide,
For those folks who have an ear,
His sheep were fed milk and meat,
May they lamb in the coming year.

Now it’s time to put past behind,
And look forward to what’s ahead,
Trusting in God to light our way,
Surely we have nothing to dread.

He will provide our every need,
Just as He did in this year past,
So march forward full of faith,
And do whatever God may ask.

FOREVER LOVE

by Bill Kochman

12-04-2016

I will never forget the day,
I suddenly lost a body part,
I thought my life was over,
My whole world blew apart.

How could anyone love me?
My beauty was deeply marred,
Just as bad as the outside,
My very heart was so scarred.

But I also remember the day,
When Jesus spoke into my ear,
My child, I love you forever,
And I will always be so near.

FOOT IN THE DOOR

by Bill Kochman

12-05-2016

You rented a porno movie,
To watch on your hi-def TV,
Brushed aside silly guilt,
To watch it more easily.

Just a little bit of lust,
It can’t really be too bad,
You’re not really addicted,
You’ll only watch for a tad.

That’s how Satan operates,
He gets his foot in the door,
And then before you know it,
Soon you’re watching more.

FOOLS FOR CHRIST

by Bill Kochman

12-06-2016

For just about two millennia now,
Scoffers have laughed to our face,
For to believe in our unseen God,
Is to them just a big disgrace.

Add to that, new life after death,
And they roll all over the floor,
But one day, when it is too late,
They’ll know there is really more.

It will then become so very clear,
That Christians weren’t the fools,
The nonbelievers were so deceived,
And they played the Devil’s tools.

FOOLISH PRIDE

by Bill Kochman

04-07-2014

In his foolish pride, man thinks he is so great,
But compared to God, he is really second rate.
Puffed up in our ego, we posture and we boast,
Satan tried that too, and now he is just toast.

A false image of ourselves, we like to present,
If someone steals our limelight, them we resent.
Such silly behavior, befits not a child of God,
Better to be humble, although they think us odd.

Dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return,
In the Book of Job, God even calls man a worm.
Beware of your heart, it will lead you astray,
There’s a Lake of Fire, for some on Judgment Day.

FISH STORY

by Bill Kochman

08-29-2014

I saw a poignant movie,
It filled me with sad regret,
It was the story of a fish,
Caught in a trapper’s net.

Although in vain it struggled,
It so wanted to be free,
The minutes slowly passed by,
But it failed to reach the sea.

Then in great shock I realized,
That the poor fish indeed was I,
The Devil was the vile trapper,
Who had caught me with his lie.
