BROKEN PROMISES

by Bill Kochman

01-14-2017

The words of men have been many,
But oft times they were not kept,
Bold promises that were broken,
And then under the carpet swept.

Countless have been the people,
Who with a ray of hope slept,
Morning light saw vows dashed,
Left abandoned they only wept.

But our God is very different,
His sure Word is our precept,
Through it we can find Salvation,
When the Lord Jesus we accept.

BORING GUY

by Bill Kochman

01-02-2020

I guess I am just a boring guy,
No woman would give me the eye.
I don’t drink and I don’t smoke,
No tattoos for me, no doing dope.

Wearing jewelry is not my style,
I’ve got no TV to flip the dial.
Motorcycles are much too loud,
I’m not one for being in a crowd.

Money’s scarce, what can I say?
The Lord provides for me anyway.
I keep busy doing my job for God,
Though some folks think I am odd.

But that’s okay, I’ve got my goal,
I work for Jesus who saved my soul.

BOOZER IN A BODY BAG

by Bill Kochman

12-13-2016

Cell by cell, that’s how it goes,
When you get hung up on the drink,
Continue burning out your brain,
Soon you won’t be able to think.

That’s just the beginning, friend,
Have you thought about your liver?
If you keep downing all that booze,
Many functions it will not deliver.

God gave you a very good body,
You are required to treat it well,
If you foolishly break all His laws,
Down the river of death you’ll sail.

BOOK OF LIFE

by Bill Kochman

12-07-2016

In the great Halls of Heaven,
There exists a wonderful tome,
Within its many written pages,
It tells who is welcome Home.

Many names are recorded there,
Yet sadly many others are not,
If one’s name isn’t found in it,
They’ll go to a place very hot.

But those who’ve accepted Jesus,
Are written in this Book of Life,
God will accept them most gladly,
As His obedient spiritual wife.

BLINDERS ON!

by Bill Kochman

01-10-2017

Well there used to be a time,
When children were taught at home,
Parents were their only teachers,
And a Bible their teaching tome.

But the Devil was not too happy,
He could not control little minds,
So he had to find a sneaky way,
To put on their spiritual blinds.

Then Big Government stepped in,
And said “We will teach your kid”,
So they started the public school,
Yes, that’s exactly what they did.

BLINDED BY ERRORS

by Bill Kochman

12-14-2016

Twas indeed a very sad day,
A vile evil swept the land,
Women were now taking women,
And a man was marrying a man.

Since the time of the ancients,
God said this should not be,
Two cities were totally lost,
A strong warning for eternity.

But now governments defy God,
Saying His Law bows to theirs,
Oh wicked, rebellious fools,
So blinded by your own errors.

BLIND HYPOCRITE

by Bill Kochman

11-29-2016

You say that I’m old-fashioned,
I need to get with the times,
But you break all of God’s Laws,
He’ll hold you for your crimes.

You reject His law of marriage,
Kill babies a million and more,
Instead of just living in peace,
You’re too quick to start a war.

You fog up your mind with drugs,
Plus booze & porn of every kind,
Oh what a big hypocrite you are,
You can’t even see you’re blind.

BLIND BY CHOICE

by Bill Kochman

12-15-2016

Ye say “We see”, so your sins remain,
To His enemies Jesus at one time said,
They knew the truth, but believed not,
So in their sins they would be dead.

What a fate for the spiritually blind,
Who embrace darkness rather than light,
So stubborn, they condemn themselves,
And to the Tree of Life have no right.

Please don’t be like those blind fools,
Let God take the scales from your eyes,
Don’t let Satan keep you in the dark,
God’s Word will burn away all his lies.

BLESSINGS

by Bill Kochman

11-13-2017

Every new day is a blessing,
From our great Lord above,
But so often we’re too busy,
To appreciate His deep love.

A bright, sunny morning,
A good rest the night before,
A yummy, delicious breakfast,
Before we go out the door.

A strong, healthy body,
A safe home in which to live,
Many blessings all around us,
So thanks be sure to give.

And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, saith the Lord GOD: every man’s sword shall be against his brother. And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I WILL RAIN UPON HIM, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, AN OVERFLOWING RAIN, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone. “And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publickly, and from house to house . . . Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one NIGHT AND DAY with tears.”
Acts 20:20, 31, KJV

“‭‭Neither did we eat any man’s bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you:‭ Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us.‭ For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.”
2 Thessalonians 3:8-10, KJV

“For ‭the kingdom of heaven is‭ as a man travelling into a far country, ‭who‭ called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.‭ And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.‭ Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made ‭them‭ other five talents.‭ And likewise he that ‭had received‭ two, he also gained other two.‭ ‭‭But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord’s money.‭ After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them.‭ And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.‭ ‭‭His lord said unto him, Well done, ‭thou‭ good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.‭ He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them.‭ His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.‭ Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:‭ And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, ‭there‭ thou hast ‭that is‭ thine.‭ ‭‭His lord answered and said unto him, ‭Thou‭ wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:‭ ‭‭Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and ‭then‭ at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.‭ Take therefore the talent from him, and give ‭it‭ unto him which hath ten talents.‭ For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.‭ And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.‭”
Matthew 25:14-30, KJV

Then I saw, and considered it well: I looked upon it, and received instruction. Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.”
Proverbs 24:30-34, KJV

#Scriptures #BibleStudy #BibleVerses #BeHumbleBeforeTheLord #BeHumbleBeforeGod #BeHumble

“So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.”
Luke 17:10, KJV

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30, KJV

“At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven? And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.”
Matthew 18:1-4, KJV

“Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ. But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.”
Matthew 23:10-12, KJV

“And he put forth a parable to those which were bidden, when he marked how they chose out the chief rooms; saying unto them, When thou art bidden of any man to a wedding, sit not down in the highest room; lest a more honourable man than thou be bidden of him; And he that bade thee and him come and say to thee, Give this man place; and thou begin with shame to take the lowest room. But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, Friend, go up higher: then shalt thou have worship in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee. For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.”
Luke 14:7-11, KJV

“But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.”
James 4:6-10, KJV

“Neither as being lords over God’s heritage, but being ensamples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away. Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:”
1 Peter 5:3-6, KJV

“Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.”
Proverbs 16:18, KJV

“For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.”
1 John 2:16, KJV
