SERIOUS, NOT SO SERIOUS

by Bill Kochman

Some say I’m a serious person,
And indeed it is true that I am,
But I’ve got a sense of humor,
And can also be quite the ham.

But the trick is knowing when,
To be funny or to hold it back,
Yes, I have got it under control,
No need for a hysteria attack.

When I am serious I’m serious,
And then when I’m not I’m not,
I strive to maintain a balance,
Yes, I give it everything I’ve got.

Now maybe you are wondering,
If I want to appear funny now,
I shall leave it for you to decide,
Out of this poem I take my bow.
