“I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.” John 16:12, KJV
“I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.” 1 Corinthians 3:2, KJV
“Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing. For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.” Hebrews 5:11-14, KJV
“As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:” 1 Peter 2:2, KJV
“As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.” 2 Peter 3:16, KJV
For when ye ought to be teachers,
At one time the Apostle Paul said,
Although it’s rather disappointing,
Like babies we treat you instead.
Dull of hearing Paul had told them,
They weren’t ready for strong meat,
Their spiritual growth was stunted,
So Paul just gave them milk to eat.
Today there are likewise Christians,
Who don’t seem to grow in the Lord,
They are spoon-fed by their pastor,
Never learning how to use a sword.
Now perhaps they believe in Jesus,
And that of course is good and well,
But being saved is just a beginning,
About Jesus others we need to tell.
If our own Salvation is all we’re after,
Then sadly we have missed the goal,
God looks for diligent, hard workers,
Who want to witness and win a soul.
Just sitting in a pew year after year,
Is not developing our faith all that far,
But should we help win folks to Jesus,
Then we’ll shine like the brightest star.

And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice . . . Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them . . . I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep. I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd . . . But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:” John 10:2-4, 7-8, 11-16, 26-27, KJV

He saith unto him, Feed my sheep. He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me?
