SAMSON AND DELILAH

Delilah that devilish dame,
Did a very dastardly deed,
She cut off Samson’s hair,
For money she had agreed.

Then when Samson awoke,
On him Philistines did fall,
Alas, to his great surprise,
He had no strength at all.

Then blinded by those men,
He was put in chains of brass,
All for the love of that woman.
Oh what a very terrible lass!

Then they took out his eyes,
And to prison him they did take,
Mighty Samson was humbled,
He had made a grave mistake.

But as Samson did there grind,
His seven locks began to grow,
Now perhaps he kept it a secret,
For nobody appeared to know.

Well, at last a great day arrived,
When Dagan was to be praised,
Philistines filled up that house,
Upon Samson they all gazed.

Then he cried out to the Lord,
Give me strength once again.
He grabbed the mighty pillars,
You know what happened then.

Down came that great temple,
And thousands died that day,
Thus Samson avenged himself,
When they took his eyes away.
