SAUL TO PAUL

He was a man bound by the Law,
His holiness he thought was fine,
But persecuting the Lord’s kids,
That’s when he crossed the line.

So then God chose to intervene,
On the road to Damascus town,
A very bright light and a voice,
Saul of Tarsus then fell down.

Three days blind with no food,
He knew it was time to repent,
So a Christian, Ananias by name,
To broken Saul was then sent.

But Ananias feared for his life,
He knew what evil Saul had done,
But God told him “Go thy way,
For dear Saul is my chosen one.”

Thus he obeyed what God had said,
Finding a street called Straight,
Scales then fell from Saul’s eyes,
Thank God that it wasn’t too late!

Such a hot firebrand for the Lord,
Paul soon upset all those Jews,
They were happy with their faith,
So they rejected his Good News.

Not only that but they had a plan,
To take the life of brother Paul,
But he learned of their treachery,
In a basket he went over the wall.

In Jerusalem it was much the same,
At first Disciples feared the man,
But Barnabas to the Apostles went,
And said with Paul God has a plan.

Now after preaching in Jerusalem,
We’re told that it happened again,
This time Grecians wanted him dead,
So brethren sent him to Tarsus then.

Now the rest of Paul’s long story,
You can read in Epistles and Acts,
It really is such a great read,
There’s so many interesting facts.
