SHOOTER

by Bill Kochman

02-22-2018

I ran from the shooter,
He was just down the hall,
So many gunshots fired,
I heard his victims fall.

Scrambling to take cover,
I feared I might be next,
God don’t let him find me,
I sent my family a text.

Then it was suddenly over,
But for sobs and tears,
How to forget this day,
I’ll be scarred for years.
