Note: I am not saying that these verses are definitely referring to Global Warming and/or Climate Change. However, they do remind me of that.
These verses could just as well be referring to the Sun slowly converting into a Red Giant, or even going nova or supernova. If at some point in the far future, the Sun were to expand and become a Red Giant, as many stars do, it would in fact result in the Earth overheating, and eventually being scorched to a cinder, as the Sun continues to expand.
“And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire. And men were SCORCHED WITH GREAT HEAT, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.”
Revelation 16:8-9, KJV
