THOSE MONSTERS OUTSIDE

A cautionary tale for smart cats.
The world is full of monsters,
Just outside your front door,
Yes, all kinds of nasty things,
They’ll scare you to the core.
How they wait very patiently,
For some kitty to slip outside,
Then the next thing you know,
They’ve hopped on for a ride.
Perhaps a blood-hungry tick,
Who will dig into kitty’s neck,
By the time that bug is done,
Your poor cat will be a wreck.
Or maybe as kitty is walking,
It encounters a family of fleas,
Oh, those sneaky, little devils,
How they jump on with ease!
Soon your kitty is scratching,
And fur is flying everywhere,
They scurry and hide so fast,
Hard to get them out of there.
However even more insidious,
Some things are out of sight,
They’ll remain totally hidden,
Until unwise kitty takes a bite.
Sadly, it is not very long after,
Kitty begins to gag and bloat,
Roundworms are the culprit,
No time to waste please note.
Quickly call up your local vet,
And get your kitty on a med,
Because if you wait too long,
Your cat could end up dead.
There are even more things,
Your dear kitty just won’t like,
Noisy cars and motorcycles,
Or some kid riding on a bike.
Mean dogs & lawn mowers,
With sharp teeth, watch out!
Do you understand dear cat,
What I am talking all about?
Yes, many nasty monsters,
Lurking outside kitty’s home,
So that is why it’s important,
To never let your kitty roam.
So fur baby just be thankful,
Your home is safe & warm,
Tho monsters rage outside,
You are far from their storm.
